Getting it too. Trying to access their website or online manual will get you a "504 Gateway Time-out" error. I don't think this is a coincidence.

From the bug forum threads, it looks like when the same problem happened back at the start of June, they had this to say:
"Everything is down right now because of an issue with the service provider. We're doing everything we can to get them to get things back up and running"

As someone who previously worked on a system with a 99.999% uptime goal (roughly five minutes down per year), I would translate that loosely as "We tried to outsource critical expertise and it backfired". I think they need to accept that they lose potential revenue every second that PT is down and hire a networking expert. Not that things would change overnight even if they did, but still.

(It just so happens I'm looking for work myself. :-) Though realistically, the fit probably isn't quite right.)

Edit: Oh, and I don't know if they are aware of the problem and working on it yet... but if not they need to get a monitoring system in place. You NEVER want your customers to be the ones telling you there's a problem. Nagios is good, although I haven't looked for a while so there might be even better options out there nowadays.

Thanks Dev Team!

Always good to see others freaking out as well. I just need a few end of year screenshots. Was too irritated after my early exit from the playoffs. I guess I should have just did the screenshots then.

This is ridiculous and you are clearly not a tech person. Almost all companies across the board remotely hold their servers for cost and scale reasons. As far as warnings go, what would you like? It takes time to diagnose the problem to even offer an expectation.

In short, do better bro

That's an... odd... stance. These days, yes, people run servers off-site. That doesn't mean that redundancy should be left entirely up to the provider. When you have the source code, anything is possible, it's just a matter of time and cost... and though I definitely *don't* have expertise in business financials, I would expect that when your big money maker is going down on what appears to be a semi-regular basis that more redundancy should be added. (My view of how common this is may be skewed since I'm a new player.)

As far as warnings go, I'm not complaining about their response at all, actually. However, automated alerts that monitor your servers 24/7 is *exactly* where my primary expertise lies, and if they didn't know about the problem within minutes of it occurring, then they have room for easy improvement. Any company that has the expertise to write custom software also has the expertise to write Nagios plugins that can monitor anything they care to examine about that custom software.

Edit: Note that *knowing* about the problem is an entirely different thing than being able to *fix* it or estimating how long it will take. It's the knowing that's easy, and they may already have a solution in place for that.

Our service backend provider is working on the issue. Our servers are fine, and all simulations of the leagues have been completed. Once our backend provider fixes the issue, everything will be back to normal. Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll keep you posted!

Don't you think there should be systems in place to deal with issues involving the auction house when this sort of thing happens, there are some people that can still log in and bid on auctions

its more than an inconvenience some of your customers are actually losing out financially and some gaining from this

Any update on when the tournaments will be unlocked? There are some daily tournaments I'd like to get into but can't as stuck in 3 tournaments from yesterday.
