OOTP 20 First Impressions
Im a long time OOTP fan, and have LOVED the game to date. Now dont get me wrong, I really like 20 too. But... it just feels so similar. I feel like I paid $40 to get the exact same game, but with a new set of rosters.
First is the lack of marketable changes. Sure, theres spray charts, but im yet to find an ingame application for those. The game is lacking many things, and nothing has really been adressed
Better trade AI? Hasnt been touched in forever
Shopping Multiple players? Havent heard of that one in a while
Online leagues - where do I start. Whens the last time theyve done anything for the online community. Those that play online survive in spite of the leadership and because of Dave from statsplus's excellent work. I think its so weird that OOTP doesnt offer hosting for online leagues. OOTP is one of the few games where you're gonna pay 130 dollars a year to a third party company and no slice goes to OOTP.
Not only that, but OOTP ignores the community because they cant tap it for profit like perfect team, which I get, but it gets less attention than even single player. There are no features in the last decade. No live head to head, no LAN head to head, no improvement to the functionality of things like promo/reg leagues... im sure there are dozens more that people playing online could point out. I genuinely wish every online league was still playing OOTP 15-16. I'd be $80-100 richer, and playing virtually the same game
I love OOTP, but I have to fear that its headed in the wrong direction. I feel every year it turns more and more into a reskin. Since 19 adding perfect team, I can count on my hand the amount of useful features that have been added. I hope it turns back to the glory days
