Setup to get the correct stats?!

Perhaps this is the wrong forum for my question or it has already been asked and answered (if so please provide the link, thanks); However how do I go about setting up historical seasons to produce the right results. For example how do I setup the season where the stolen base was actually an effective and oft used weapon, say when Lou Brock, Vince Coleman and Ricky Henderson were running wild and stealing over 100 bases? Or how about when a pitcher had 25-30 complete games and there were 10 20 game winners in the National League (circa 1960-70's). Can anyone spell this out for me as I would really appreciate it and otherwise it takes away the fun of running the historical seasons.

When you set up your historical league, don't change any settings. You should get era-appropriate totals.

What about when you match teams from different eras?

You're going to have to pick a specific year that you want your stats to reflect. You've chosen about three or four different decades there. Pick a year and stick with it. When you have the year you want, I'll let you know how to get the stats to reflect that particular year best. It's complicated, but it can be done.

I use 1984 for my stats and strategy settings and I play historical random debut. That's the year before Vince Coleman was running wild, but Rickey sure was, along with lots of other players. Lou Brock certainly wasn't running wild then, and pitchers were not throwing 25-30 CG per year, with ten of them winning 20+ games. Figure out what your favourite year is and get back to me, either here or by PM. Just remember that I can't attach pics to explain what I'm talking about by PM, so maybe you want to keep it here.

you can mix and match a bit.. use a bae year and make minor adjustments.

e.g. for the CG thing... if oyu want a ~5man rotation you need to use very low or low pitcher stamina (drop down option on Stats and AI settings tab under League settings)

if you change that, no more 25-30 cg.

difference betwen low and very low -- with low the top stamina guys will be able to start with 1 day less rest... if oyu set "always use highest rested" these guy will get 35+ GS but still not many CG due to a modern-like stamina setting.

they will get tired at roughly the same #, but some will be able to recover in 3days off instead of 4days off between starts.

like carl weathers said (action jackson movie ) with multi era teams together, somethign is likely going to be different with player results... what's important to you? do a little trial and error and see which configurations do the best for your intentions.

this can get complicated.. patch up a hole over here, and 2 more leaks can occur over there... you are mixing apples and oranges

this is the inherent flaw of how they have it setup.. instead of ratings being a constant measure, the meanings of what 1 power or 1 avoid k's can change drastically depending on the League Totals and League Total Modifiers in use. so, you cannot mix players from different eras and expect the to perform as they would in a different statistical environment due to different LT/LTMs.

if they made ratings a constant definition as far as what it translates to, this wouldn't be a problem. (neutralized/realative todiffernet competition of course)
