Request: Additional level for the auto-save game function
The auto-save function currently can be set to save as frequently as every 'day' in game time. It would be helpful if we could take it one step further - to have it save the game after every played game. I do this manually as I do not quick sim but play out (not always managing, but let the computer manage) every game on the schedule game-by-game.
On more than a few occasions, I'd worked my way through about half of a day's schedule (without manually saving) and either a new game update/patch became available and the game crashed (it seems like every time a new patch is available, my game crashes - and when I restart, I get the prompter that an update is available asking if I want to update... very weird...) .... or Windows has installed updates and the computer auto-restarted. The bottom line behind all of this is - when the game was turned off (for whatever reason) and I hadn't saved at some point during that game day, I lost ALL of the games played that day. Once I hadn't manually saved and had played all of the games on a given day's schedule except one. I set up and started that last game of the day. At some point, the computer auto-restarted and I lost all of the games played that day and had to play them over again, which sucked because a couple of the games featured epic performances (example - 1971 historical replay - Joe Torre went 4 for 4 to raise his average to .455, but the Cardinals - and Bob Gibson - still lost to the Mets) Having an option to have the program auto save after every played game would eliminate that problem. Right now, I manually save between every game (provided I remember). Would love to see this added as an option to the selections for how frequently to auto save. not something i'd use a lot, but definitely an idea worth looking into. i can see value in it.
with all the problems on the main board lately from people who haven't made back-ups, how about a pop up reminder (or questionaire) asking if you want to make a back-up on exit - if one hasn't been made within a game month or two . (i know it would seem annoying, but if you make one on a regular basis, it wouldn't need to pop-up. on the load game screen there is an indicator of how old your back-up is, but i play the same game 99% of the time, so just let OOTP start on my current game, so i never see that screen - or very seldom). It appears some people are quite confused on the difference between a saved game and a backed-up game.

Agreed - a prompter to remind to make a backup would be very helpful. I'd hazard to guess most of us aren't as careful about making backups as we should be - hence all the problems folks have had. Having a popup would definitely be helpful.
