Demotion problems

Whenever I try to demote someone from my roster(usually to make room for someone who is coming off the DL) I get a message saying "this player has a major league contract, and cannot be demoted. Please designate this player for assignment, or release him." How do I stop this from happening? While playing the same league in OOTP 15 I could promote/demote anyone that I wanted, whenever I wanted, that's how I liked it, and that's how I want it to be. Any help would be appreciated, I almost want to call it a bug since most of the players I'm trying to demote don't even have major league contracts.

So, it's tough to say exactly what is going on here without some specific examples. My assumption is that OOTP is attempting to follow the rules configured for your league. I can't rule out that something buggy is going on, but without more info there's just no way to know.

Can you possibly post a screenshot of your transactions page, and let us know an example of a player who you cannot demote to a lower level? If you could include a picture of their contracts page that would help too.

Okay, I tried to tweak with my settings, and it seems to have fixed the problem for now. The only thing I changed is that I increased the secondary roster size to the standard 40 man(I had it at 35) Maybe that change was causing the problem? Although I don't understand why it would.

Yeah again, I don't know that we can give you much more advice without specific examples...
