Background Picture in Team Settings

I downloaded pictures and set them as background but nothing is showing up (it's still the picture of a baseball). Is there only a certain size that fits?

At least two things. They should be near or equal to 1900x1200. They need to be in the .png format, and you need to be sure to actually select them from your team settings page, clicking Select File or whatever it says next to background picture.

Do you have them in the Backgrounds folder?

I'm using an old 1024x768 jpg I took on my 1440x900 system, FWIW. So while you probably want the resolution to be higher, and close to your screen resolution, it doesn't HAVE to be, FYI.

This doesn't work. I have the image in the Backgrounds folder, right dimensions, png format. When I select the file, nothing changes. The old background remains.

The other background pictures are in the folder, too? The ones that the game defaults to? By team name? Asking because there are a couple folders named Backgrounds. Want to make sure yours is properly selected.

Sometimes you have to change to another team page and back for it to kick in.
For everyone using custom backgrouds, it's best to create a new folder and move the original backround pics your replacing to it (Both the png and .gz_raw). You'll regret it if you don't..

Can you post an example of what you've done? Curious to see what it looks like.

I changed teams and went back. Still doesn't work.

Yes. Same folder as those. It's the only backgrounds folder.

Then the only thing it should be is that it is named incorrectly or not a png file. Make sure every space in the team name is replaced with an underscore like this: gary_southshore_railcats

What would be an example of incorrect naming?

Even when I copy and paste the image ontop of one of the default team backgrounds and save it, it still glitches out and doesn't work when I select it.

NEVER MIND

Need to restart the game for them to show up. Working now.

That's what I thought too, but I've had several times where they wouldn't work. Png always works...Just another curiosity I guess.

For the record, I also had to restart to cause the new pictures to take effect.

Thanks..I'm not creative at all, so can't help there. Just use google and search your fictional name...you'll find images that'll help get you started.

One important thing to remember is that ootp does not resize backgrounds so your background has to be the same resolution as ootp is set to use for best results. Mine is 1920x1024.

Easiest way to get started is to goto any teams schedule page and take a screenshot to use as a template and save it.
When you add layers to it, adjust the layer's transparency so that you can see ootp's screenshot. Now you can line up all your layer images so that they don't cover up any ootp data you don't want to hide.

Remember to reset your layer(s)transparency to none before you merge them and save the final pic. Make sure your ootp's tempate pic layer is not included in the save.
