League Standings

Two things I would find useful on the league standings screen -

One of my leagues is just one subleague at the moment and the standings (four divisions) don't fit on the screen and require scrolling. It would be useful for me to have the option to display the standings across two columns, even with only one subleague. Obviously I could switch to two subleagues but that would have implications for league history etc.

Secondly, I wish that it was noted in the standings when a team in first place has cliched at least a wildcard - I have had situations in both of the last two seasons in my game where my team was in a close division race in the final week and in such a scenario, the second place team had a 'z-' indication having clinched a wildcard but the leader did not, despite being sure of a play-off place. On one occasion, I got a news story about my team having clinched a play-off place when actually what had happened was we had been overtaken and dropped into second place, the play-off place having been sealed a few days earlier when still in first place.

I think the reason second place gets the z and not the division leader is because the division leader isn't in the wildcard race. So they don't get that designation.

In your example if the second place team were to pass the first place team and lead the division the original first place team (now in second) would get the z connotation as a clinched a wildcard. Then the team now in first place (originally second place) would have no designation regarding the wild card because they have been taken out of the wildcard race since they are now the division leader and the magic number hasn't been reached yet to clinch the division.

Yes I appreciate that - my point is that the team in first place has clinched a play-off place by one means or another and I would find it useful for that to be noted in the standings.

I probably shouldn't have mentioned the second place team having the z- as that wasn't really the point I was trying to make. If the second place team has clinched a wildcard, it stands to reason that the leader would also be guaranteed to be in the play-offs - so the issue is actually more relevant when no other team in that division has yet clinched a place.

Some sort of designation would tell me when my team (or indeed any other) is certain to be in the play-offs even if subsequently overtaken in the division.
