A 10 and half hour game that lasted 34 innings.

I recently posted this on OOTP's Facebook page, but I wanted to post it on here as well, just in case you don't have the page liked.

So this game lasted 34 innings and lasted 10 1/2 hours. Have you seen longer? According to Wikipedia those are both professional baseball records, (33 innings, 8 hours and 25 minutes).

The game was tied until the top of the 20th inning when the Indians managed to plate two runs across. The Mariners were able to respond with two runs of their own in the bottom half.

The score remained the same until the top of the 31st when the Indians were able to scratch across a third run. The Mariners came back once again to tie it in the bottom half.

Then finally, in the top of the 34th inning, the Indians took a 4-3 lead. The Mariners got a runner on via an error in the bottom half, followed by a single from their center fielder . And then Mariners rookie shortstop, (who went 6-16) blasted a three run HR to FINALLY end the game.

The game wasted my entire bullpen. My closer even fired 4 shutout innings before getting injured. It's a shame my starter fired 7 1/3 innings of one-hit no run baseball.

I've never seen anything this crazy in OOTP, have you?

That should put to rest the consistent claims that OOTP pre-determines the outcome.

staggering!

one guy got on base EIGHT TIMES. how about seattle's thumping cleanup hitter going 0-12 right behind him?

the only thing i have seen that even comes close was an old game i played with a buddy using SI's Superstar Baseball. we had the 1972 season cards. 29-inning scoreless game, until mike 'superjew' epstein hit a tater. oakland 1; detroit 0.

p.s. - what were the LOB figures for both sides?

I like that the Indians had a pinch-hitter come on in the 16th inning, and he goes 0-for-9.

Also one of the few times where someone could have had 3 or 4 hits in a game and still witnessed his average go down.

Looks like you found a bug... Markus needs to redesign the line score at the top to accommodate 34 innings. Time to open up a bug report.

I think you just broke the all time real baseball record .... I think the real record was 32 innings by the Red Sox AAA team back in the 80s if I recall.

The longest game for me was 20 innings ... your game is amazing in itself OUCH .... hopefully the next game your starter can go the distance

IIRC it's 36. I think the ML record is 33, I might be wrong though.

The Pawtucket Red Sox and Rochester Red Wings, two teams from the Triple-A International League, played the longest game in professional baseball history. It lasted for 33 innings, with eight hours and 25 minutes of playing time. 32 innings were played April 18/19, 1981 at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and the final 33rd inning was played June 23, 1981. Pawtucket won the game, 3–2.

Wow. You wouldn't have needed a bullpen if you started Spahn and brought Marichal in for relief.

As a Mets fan, I'd pay any amount of money possible to have Keith Hernandez broadcasting a game that goes 30+ innings. Hearing him would make it worth it.

He could once more tell us about the 26-hour bus rides in the 70s in the Texas League. You know, in real time.

30+ innings is insane. I would snap if my team would flail for 30 innings, only to lose 1-0.

Here is a real life 33 inning game but it was only 8 hours 33 minutes played over 2 days.
