Game froze on "Attention! You have received a trade proposal!"

It doesn't say "not responding" but when I click okay nothing happens and I can't click anything else. I've been playing for a couple hours but haven't saved! ugh

Anything that I can do or am I S.O.L?

hit ESC and it should unfreeze.
