Question about Negro Leagues

I want to start my own fictional solo league based on the negro leagues. How do I set it so that only blacks are generated? I want all fictional players.

I don't believe you can. You could however do one of two things.

The cruder of the two is...
You can set the league setup to pull 100% of the players to be from an African nation that is Sub-Saharan and non Muslim. I would suggest Cameroon, Ghana, Togo etc
South Africa produces about 10% white players so I would avoid it.

You can the. Manually edit the nations, cities and names. Tedious

The second option is to edit the world.dat and create a custom nation using the classic American name set but uses a player generation out of Africa.
This is the more elegant of the two options but editing the world.dat has been known to cause serious issues.

The third option and probably the worst is to simply generate a fictional league from the US, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican and then edit out the whites and light skinned Latin players.
That would also be time consuming.

I have not tried all black teams in several versions so it may be easier.
I choose to edit my world.dat and it worked but caused issues later on.

It can be done. You are going to have to do some serious editing so that the only nation in the world is the USA and that the only ethnicity in the USA is black.

It's fairly simple. You would just need to change the ethnicities.txt file and your world_default.xml file so that players for the U.S. or historical U.S. are only African but use a historical nameset. You'll also want to turn off the hardcoding of MLB player origins in the same XML file.

Whatever you do, create backup copies of these files first so you can restore them when you want to create other games in the future.

While nice, you really don't really need backup copies of altered files because a reinstall restores everything.

Yeah, but a simple copy and movement of the files means you just have to swap them out. And you can keep your modified files for re-use, whereas the reinstall will overwrite them. I'd rather not waste time running a reinstall anyway.

Yes, like I said, it's nice to have them. But it's not necessary to have them when you can just reinstall.
