Short blurb on 2 pitch wonder.
I've seen posts in the past along the lines of "... my pitchers suck, they only have 2 pitches". Saw this, so for what it's worth:

Just because he only uses two pitches doesnt mean he only has two pitches to throw. The article would more likely paint him as the has 3 pitches but one is rated so low it should only be thrown once or twice a game to throw a hitter off. Every pitcher as mentioned relies mostly on two effecive pitches, some just throw their 3rd pitch more often and some use 4 or 5 so the numbers get spread out more

Randy Johnson was a true 2 pitch pitcher until very late in his career. Perhaps the exception (almost) proves the rule.

Yeah if his fastball/slider wasnt on that day he was gonna get rocked, even though he did throw other stuff the fastball/slider was his bread and butter
