managing from minors to majors?
I'm brand new to OOTP and am having a blast so far. I took the first available job in 2013 (Go Orem Owlz!) and am wondering how viable it is to eventually make it to big league manager? Anyone done this? Is it difficult? Impossible? Fairly common? Should I plan on languishing in the minors the rest of my life?

My personal experience was pretty quick from minors to Majors. I started out in the Rookie leagues and went from there to the majors in 4 seasons; each successive season being a promotion to the next level. I am sure results will vary, but none the less, it was a very enjoyable experience getting there.

Cool, that's good to know. My time will probably be longer as I'm sort of learning this on the fly and was never a stats geek (at least, until I bought OOTP two weeks ago) so the learning curve is pretty huge. But I'm tied for 2nd with less than half of the season to go, so maybe single A ball will be calling my name come this winter!

I've done it a couple of times. You can expect to move up a level each year, provided your team's performance is at least good. I've jumped 2 levels in one season, particularly if the team above me is going badly and the manager there gets fired. I've also stalled at a level when my team under performed.
