Independent League Free Agents.

I was wondering if anyone has had any players come from the Independent Leagues.

Does your scout find them or do they just appear as free agents at a certain time of year?

I've been playing with the MLB quickstart and have yet to see any of these players (although I have it set to the default 6, so there aren't many to begin with).

I think they come in when free agency starts. Don't know if there's supposed to be an announcement or not.

I saw one within the first few weeks of starting my MLB QS. The Royals signed a pitcher from an independent league. If I remember right he was something like 20 OVR, 41 POT. I haven't seen another independent league player since though.

Independent Players are dumped into the free agent pool at random during the season. Your scout will not notify you. They will just appear in your player shortlist. Of course if you only have 6 generating/ year then this is not going to happen very often, but if you have 30 like me I can get like 3-4/ year. I have pictures but they are not uploading. I already have a universe with a dozen or more indy leagues. Does this mean that in OOTP14 I'll have random indy leaguers popping up as free agent signings above and beyond that? Is there a league setup option to turn this off?

I already have twice as many indy leagues as in real life, along with several foreign leagues that don't really exist at that level, so it'll be difficult to suspend disbelief that there are other leagues with high-quality players that have previously escaped my notice.
