Game crashes when loading online league file

Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue, couldn't find the answer through a forum search. Two of my GM's are having the exact same issue.

I only have the specifics from one of them and they are:

- He's on build 13.5.22
- He's on a Mac
- I checked and it appears his saved game folder is extracted appropriately.
- I zipped the settings file and mailed it to him (read a thread where downloading the settings file directly can cause issues)
- Game appears to crash while the progress bar said Initializing and the bar read 0%.

The other 22 GM's have had no issues with the file, so this puzzles me. If anyone has any thoughts/suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

I have had similar problems with my most recent league file update. Managed to export by downloading the latest league file and not clicking update league file, but this is obviously not an ideal situation...

1) Be sure that you are including the players and retired dat files in your upload. Not doing so has caused weird problems in many leagues.

2) I believe that this is unrelated, but since I am a little unsure what you are describing, it is worth a check: If this is a freeze up during the download rather than a crash putting the GM out of the game, instruct the GM to leave it for 20 minutes and see whether it resolves itself. Scattered GMs in various leagues find that a particular league file does not show the graphic showing download progress, so they think it is frozen -- but, in truth, it is working fine.

3) What happens if you give him the server link for the file update and instead of updating in-game, he downloads the file and extracts it 7-Zip? (If the GM is not particularly tech savvy, be sure it gets extracted to the correct folder level.) This workaround is very often needed, and it is totally unpredictable who will need it. The in-game update might work for almost all GMs, but not one or two... and those one or two might have in-game updates work in other leagues, but not this particular one.

4) If all else fails, what happens if you have the GMs delete or rename their league folders and start with scratch, first with a fresh download of the dat files, then with a fresh download of the accountsgm file in the settings folder? (And just the single file in the settings folder, not all the other stuff)
