When he is eligible to come off the DL, right-click on his name and you should have the option to rehab him in the tab selections that appear.

Okay to follow up this post what does the rehab assignment do? Does it just place the player in the minors for a few days and is there a difference in doing this versus just bringing the guy off the DL and placing him on the big league team. For example will a guy with a long layoff who is thrown back in the bigs be a bit rusty?

Shouldn't you be able to rehab a player before they come off DL?

Official word is that a player will be rusty after injuries longer than two weeks.

That would make, sense if the guys is not injured anymore.

I wanna know what happens when a guy's rehab time is over. Is he put on the DFA? Or can he stay in the minors, if on secondary roster. Or does he have to go back to the majors?

In the real world, rehab assignments are used to make sure players are truly recovered from their injury, so they take place during their DL time.

In OOTP, rehab assignments are to knock off rust after a DL stint of 2 weeks or more, so you have to wait until they are recovered to have them do rehab.

After the rehab stay is over, I think the player has to go back onto the active roster, though he might be able to stay in the minors if he has options left, but I might be wrong on this point.
