A fictional league in an entirely fictional country, we are currently wrapping up our 42nd season, so we have lots of history.

24 teams plus 4 minor league levels

We keep it moving!
* 4 sims a week during the season
* sims every day in the off season
* very few missed sims in all the years we have been running
* season takes about 7 weeks of real life time
* off season takes about 12 days

Some outside-the-game-engine features:
* each city has certain built in advantages
* annual organizational goal
* sandwich picks compensation for lost free agents
Commish does not run a team, instead handling these aspects of the league

=> Originally a “stats only” league, with no current player ratings; now we use only vague (1-5) ratings, and scouts, so you still must rely mostly on player performance
=> scouts on… Potential ratings are a somewhat more informative 1-10

We are fine with 1st time online players… It is competitive, but not cutthroat, and lots of us are glad to give help if you are just starting out
Time zone friendly… We have always had more than our share of GMs living outside the US, because we never do chat room drafts, where time zone is crucial

A few other rules in place:
* Strict limits on option years, salary incentives, unbalanced salaries
* rule 5 enabled
* June 1 ammy draft… Rounds 1-3 on forum; remainder in-game
* Hidden players (foreign prospects) enabled
* Morale system enabled
* Interleague play and DH off
* Suspensions off

Moving to 11 this Sunday but two owners have decided not to make the move, so we have room for two more... First come, first served

Denton (a decent team) and Cottonwood (a fixer-upper) are both open.

Time for another opening day, and we have two teams open: Langlade and Red Willow.

Red Willow is the most successful franchise in the league's history, while Langlade is one of the few to never win a championship -- in fact, they have not made it to the finals in 36 years.

First come, first served

Langlade played in the Kennel Cup in 1979.

Oops! How could I forget?

But they are still looking for their first ring.

Stratford has been crowned champion -- six seasons, six different champs.

As we move to the off season, we are looking for new GMs for Cottonwood and Denton.

Cottonwood now has new management. Looking for one good, active GM for Denton.

Our 45th season ends tomorrow -- game 7 of the finals.

We have two vacancies for next season, both well run playoff teams that have been actively managed all year:

The big city Hinsdale Hares had the #1 starting staff in the Spaniel League and was the wildcard. They lose their GM after 30 seasons.

Northhampton staged an incredible comeback to win their division. They are average at best when it comes to pitching, but they do have the Dog Days version of Ted Williams -- 27-year-old Sam Pawson who has hit .400 each of the past three seasons.

First come, first served

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a great league. We have a mature group of owners who get along, and a dedicated commissioner who doesn't own a team himself. I am going on my 15th season in the league, and this is the only league in which I take part -- online or solo.

See you soon!

Hopefully people are taking advantage of the openings in this fine league. I spent 8 seasons in DDB and can attest to how well it is run. Beorn is a top notch commish who enjoys the league as much as the owners.

If you like a faster-paced league, Dog Days Baseball is for you. 4 sims per week means you can see the fruits of your labor. You can actually turn a team around in a few RL months.

Check out this great league!

Two teams looking for GMs:

Hood River - 90-72 last season, but two other division teams had great seasons, so they missed the playoffs. Pretty balanced team, except that relief pitching has been terrible.

Greenwood - Very weak this season, and will have the third ammy draft pick. Some talent on the mound, but ineffective offense.

As another season draws to an end, it looks like we have one vacancy -- Kendall.

Shoot me an email if you are interested.

I have left Kendall and Dog Days Baseball because of time constraints, but rest assured it is a great fictional league with a top-notch and thorough commissioner. Simming one month per real life week, you get through a regular season in about six weeks.

Kendall is in one of the toughest divisions in the league, and in a park that favors pitching. But there is a solid farm system here (2nd best according to BA). Kendall's AAA, AA and A clubs all made their playoffs in the season just concluded. And the ML squad has some nice young players and is on solid financial footing.

I took the time to post this because I'd love to see Kendall taken over by a great GM. So if you are looking for a good challenge -- turn this organization into a consistent winner -- in an excellent league, this is your opportunity.
