Scouting budget question

How do I give more money in the total scouting budget??
I'm in the pre-season and I can type in the amount but it just reverts back to the original. Is this something I have no control over??
Someone please answer

Is the amount you're typing in putting your team over its budget? If you're overbudget, or the amount you're type in will put your team over budget, the game will default back to the previous entry. Given your description, I'd guess you're already overbudget and therefore your scouting budget is forced to be one-half the average league scouting budget.

Type in the amount you want, then hit your "Enter" key. If it doesn't stick then and keeps going back to what it was, are you sure your team has enough money under their budget to pay for the increase?

EDIT: The Dutchman beat me, cause he's "flying."

Well I guess I'm over budget. I only have half the amount of the league average.
I still don't know how to get or give more money in scouting. What in the world am I missing?
Thanks for the help guys but I need more.

Other than that other suggestion made of making sure you hit enter after typing in the amount that you want, you seem to have down how to set a higher scouting budget (if you can). If you're over budget, the only way you raise your scouting budget is to trade away or release some players or fire staff until you're under budget during the preseason when you can set your next season's scouting budget. The main front office season shows your financial status and will tell you if you're over/under budget for the coming year.

Thank you Dutch and KC!
I'll have to wait until next pre season to do some adjusting.
For some reason I"m having trouble playing .500 ball. And I LOVE IT!
Have a good day guys.

You're welcome, and if it makes you feel better, the team I'm playing with is 8-18. So you're not alone.

There also seems to be a cap on the maximum amount you can put into it. I couldn't put more than 12.5 million. I don't have the financials handy but that was using the MLB quickstart.
