A New Hall Of Fame

April 2nd, 2300 - You could ask a hundred different people who the greatest player in baseball history is, and you may get a hundred different answers. Today, Major League Baseball is hoping they know all these answers as they open their hall of fame and announce the one hundred inaugural members. As we gear up for the 501st season of the league, we look back at the 24506 position players who have stepped up to bat and the 16514 pitchers that have toed the rubber. Today 0.24% of these players will be announced for the hall of fame, making it the most exclusive club in all of sports.

Who can we expect to see make their way into the hall? For starters, the seven members of the 700 home run club are almost certainly a lock for entry. The fifteen members of the 3500 hit club seem almost certain as well.

With only 100 players going in, it does not seem like a lock that all 37 members of the 300 win club will make it in, but we can expect to see most of them, led by the only member of the 450 win club (and 400 win club for that matter), Dane Berry. Many of the 14 members of the 600 save club may find their way through the doors of the hall as well.

Although these names will be familiar to the most dedicated baseball fans, some of these players were out of the league years before our great, great, great grandparents were born. With that in mind, starting tomorrow we will take a look back at the careers of the 100 members of the new baseball hall of fame. And of course, as soon as the 100 are announced, we will update with that information.
