Dream team takes on the world
I never played a historical game so I don't know if I have the correct grasp of what can be done with the program and the different data bases, so here's my question......
Is it possible to pick your favorite players from a particular team like the Red Sox (go figure) throughout history and make them into one team. I also want to pick the player's best year and keep that stagnent while I sim all the teams of history. I would like to take my dream team and start simming back like 1920 and sim against all of the NL & AL teams of that year for the whole season. After that season is done I would like to move the dream team up to the 1921 season without my team changing or getting older. I know that this will not historic or realistic, I just want to do it for fun. Thanks for the help!!

Probably could delete the Boston team each year and reimport the players, but then they would not have stats kept for career totals. You would probably have to keep the almanac feature on or save the csv each year and put the Boston stats into a database or excel table to keep track of career records....

OK, I have an historic league up and running but after looking at all of the forum entries in this section I can't find any steps that will help put the dream team together and how to bring that team into a perticular year. I have a list of players I want on the team and also the year's stats of each of those players I want to use. So how do I put all of these players from different years on one team and bring that team into an historic league?

There's probably an easier way but I would go this route for the sake of detail:
1. Import the season I want, say 2005. 2. Release most, if not all, players from the Expos 3. Import players one by one from the Lahman Database starting with the starting lineup I want, then the reserves, then the pitching staff, assigning them to the Expos as I import. 4. Change the name of the Expos to Dream Team 5. Sim

Dola. You probably need to know how to import players individually, right?
1. Go to Free Agents in the game. 2. At the bottom, you'll see Import Historical Player. Click it and enter the Lahman ID of the player (ryanno01 = Nolan Ryan) and the season, such as 1974. To see what a player's ID is, open the Master CSV file inside your Lahman database.
