34 straight division titles with 20 WS wins, most in a row was 10 straight, when I quit playing. No doubt I'll continue whenever I decide to start playing again.

I've found if you scout the productive nations, it's way too big of and advantage. My minors were full of 5 star players. I would sign at least 3 a year if not more. I stopped doing that completely..so we will see how long this run lasts.

Must be a fictional league
This would never happen in real life. Seriously though, that is one heck of a run.

I thought the Cubs were never to win the series, it is hard coded in.

In a game that's this customizable it's possible to have any conceivable outcome. If I wanted to I could set up a league tonight where my team was based in Tokyo, with a 198,000 seat stadium, and $100M in merchandising revenues a year. The rest of the league would play on little league fields and make $89.23 a year. I'm pretty sure I could win the league every year for 150 years without trying.
Sorry if that comes off as harsh, but if you polled 1000 OOTP players you'd get 1000 different ways of playing, so absolute records are pretty meaningless. A guy in my Greenland Winter League just hit .732. It's not at all amazing, considering the way the league is set up.

During that time frame your team lost money..... IRL the owner would have made you get rid of some of the players. Also how did you rate with the salaries of the other clubs. I found it easy to win with a high payroll. I usually play with house rules and limit myself to the average of last years teams...... other than that it is a good record. I have seen better in OOTP6 though...

Out of curiosity, what was your strategy? In other words, how did you maintain a roster that could win 100 games a year, for ten years?

The run just ended..
I got knocked out of the first round the next season. Stopping the international recruiting evened the playing field. I did have a player win 6 straight MVPs though.

Just as an experiment: I played a league that was pretty much comparable
to MLB. In 24 total seasons, I had 22 consecutive seasons of over 105 wins (22 division titles, 12 world series victories). Needless to say, I always play OOTP with a number of "house rules". There can always be other goals than just puttin' something unholy on the AI. |

I also used to play super tecmo bowl and see if I could go an entire season without being scored on. I like to win.

I wonder if you would have these results if you didn't initiate trades? That is how I have to trade... the only trade initiations I do is via shop player.
It is TOO EASY to win if you fleece other teams via ridiculous trades... which are easily done with the "out of the box" settings. |
