Clickin' my life away!

Any way to turn off the option to pause after each play when managing - damn RETURN or MOUSE CLICK to advance is driving me nuts. I saw the box to check off for it and did so, but it still pauses, just doesn't give the message click to continue.

I'm not sure if I get your question. The pause after each play box appears in any game that you are watching as either a neutral manager or a commissioner. It is unavailable only if you are managing one of the teams in the game. Even then, if you delegate game controls to your AI manager, it appears again. Once you UNclick it, the game moves along by itself. The real trick is trying to click the pause box again to stop the game; you have to either click it exactly between plays or multi-click until you get lucky. That's been reported to Tech Support, I think.

Edit: On second thought, now I get your question. See above about the option being unavailable in the game if you are in control of any aspect of it. You would have to delegate controls to your AI manager in the game's Options page first. As an experiment, I left my manager in control of offensive strategy only and delegated the rest to the AI. When my team was in the field, I could let the game flow without interruption with the pause box unchecked. When my team came to bat, however, the pause box had disappeared and I was in control again.

K. Followed you there and got that going. What I'm looking for tho is for, when managing a game, to not have to "click mouse or any key to continue" in order to get back to the SWING AWAY, BUNT or TAKE PITCH options at the bottom. Would just help the game flow better.

I suppose it pauses so you can read the PBP and continue when you've read it but I'm looking for it to just go on by itself, pausing only for me to tell the hitter or pitcher what to do. . . is there a setting for that?

OK, now I getcha here too.

You're saying now that, if managing the game (instead of observing), the pause is off but you have to click or hit a key to continue. Yes, I think that's because it gives you the opportunity to digest the play that just occurred by reading the PBP. Otherwise you could not manage the game.

The game either progresses without pause because you have told it that you are just watching, or it pauses, assuming that you want to manage each play because you said so in the control settings. You can't have it both ways, I guess.

Hey, it's been nice chatting with you. I see from your posts on the General Discussions board that it looks like a "no go" with you and this game. If so, check back there occasionally in coming months and see if sound will indeed be in OOTP for 2008.
