Game Crashes on Load

Help,

I am a novice computer guy and when I try to load OOTP 2007 it gives me a OOTP has encoutered a problem and must shut down error. What do I do????

Please help,

Did it install ok? or is this what you are having trouble with? Have you licensed it yet?

Also, could you tell us a little more like your system specs and how much HD space you have free? Also, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

It also may be FaceGen that is causing the issue. You should try t odisable it. See:

Anyone,

I disabled Face Gen as suggested, the program now loads correctly and is ready to play. One HUGE problem, NO FACE GEN. OOTP is the best game I have ever played and i am a three year plus fan. This latest version is amazing. However, the Face Gen and Uniform is next to my favorite feature. Please help me to have both, OOTP nd Face Gen

I have an IC Power Lap Top with a Mobile AMD Sempron processor +2600 798 Mhz 224 Mb RAM.

Please help.

What kind of video card does it have? It may be that the video drivers need to be updated. There is also the possibility that the video card if not compatible.

Guys,

I checked dxdiag as requested, its says:

SiS 760 Rev 00
Main Driver: SiSGRV.dll
Version: 6.14.0010.3620 english

Please don't tell me I'm screwed, what can I do. Is the situation correctable, upgradeable? In which case, again, what can I do?

I like this game so much, I might even purchace a new laptop just to get the Face Gen and Uniform features. Please don't tell me that's the only option.

Looks like there may be an updated driver for you. This one was released in January:

Download and let us know if you need help installing -- and please read their disclaimer, as we can't personally provide one for you.

That gfx card is listed on the ones that do not work in post:

I'd wait and see if anything in the first patch fixes it before you go and buy a whole not laptop.

All the guys in this forum rock. Adrockski's fix worked, I now have OOTP 2007, Face Gen, and the Uniform features. You guys eally just made my year.

I don't know how to do it, but somebody should shout this out to the others with my video issues.

We should probably update the GFX card thread to mark this card as one that works with FaceGen (with the latest drivers).
