Thumbs up MLB2006V3.0 Officially Released!

Well, it is finally complete and MLB2006V3.0 has been released.

First I would like to thank the following people, without whom, this would have been much harder and less satisfying:

NoPepper for his awesome Cuban logos
TRuthSeum for his great looking logos
EriqJaffe for his MVP2005 Parks
T_Wil1 for his stadium pictures
WrightWing for his facepacks
CTorg,Henry, and Teflon Skies for their fictional parks
All the people who have worked hard on gathering information on the world leagues outside of the US
Anyone I may have forgot, it was not intentional, thanks for your efforts
  • OVERVIEW:
MLB2006V3.0 is the 3rdrelease of the MLB2006 series of Leagues by Matter2003. This league does not contain real players/rosters as of now(possibly for a later version). However, that being said, I believe it is the most comprehensive league available for OOTP2006 at this time.

***New in V3.0:
-Added ALL 7 Independent Leagues, complete with all their financials, rules, playoffs, logos, stadiums, and city information.

-Added ALL Stadiums for major and minor league teams and their stadium pictures(did not touch foreign league teams and a few independent league teams---will complete this for a future version)

-Added Park Factors for MLB Parks

-Renamed ALL Stadiums of the World to their Correct Names

-Fixed ALL Stadium Capacities, Types, Dimensions (directly emailed EVERY minor league team & Independent team for this info), and WallHeights.

-Updated ALL League Financials, Rules, Options, etc of the world to closely mimic their real life counterparts. No Longer will the Cuban Leagues be paying their players $15,000,000

-Replaced certain logos with TruthSerums logos where I felt it made it better. Used the original logos on most teams because I felt they show up better than TruthSerums many times. This is a personal choice, feel free to use his logos if you wish. And Yes, I know it goes contrary to what I posted in the forums, but again, looking at the comparisons it was hard for me to use his over the ones I had(for me at least).

-Updated and Corrected ALL City names for every team in the game(where possible).

-Updated/Corrected ALL MLB/Minors/Independent League Teams Market Size, Fan Support, and Fan Loyalty based on some formulas I came up with and updated info.

-Probably some other minor things I can’t remember right now(It’s late here as I am writing this).

PLEASE NOTE: I DID NOT include players images in this release like I did in the previous one, as it made the file much larger and many people did not want them included. I did create 2 player zip files that contain all the players that were in the initial release, and you can just unzip them to the news/html/images Folder of the league.

KNOWN ISSUES: Every care was taken to make this as accurate as possible. However, due to certain limitations within the game and the non-availablity of some information, I could use some help.

-Some stadium information probably is not 100% correct. I did the best I could, but some teams did not email me back, and some fields I could find virtually no info on. I have basic dimensions(LF/RF/CF, Capacity, Type) for virtually all the stadiums, probably 99%. I have Power Alley Info for probably 80-85% of the stadiums, LF/RF for probably 50% and official wall heights for 50-60%. However, I looked at pictures of every stadium I did not have official wall heights for and compared them to pictures of known wall heights, and was able to make some pretty god guesstimates. Please post stadium information when you know it is 100% correct and please post your source so I can verify it. Only post 100% correct info(info you are absolutely sure of). I don't want maybes, or I thinks.

The following fields I have no info on:
Champion Window Field(Florence Freedom, Frontier League,Indy)
Harlingen Field(Rio Grande Valley White Wings,ULB Indy)
Veteran's Field(Laredo Broncos, ULB Indy)

-Once again due to problems with odd number of teams in a subleague, I have added teams to the AZL,VSL and GCL to make them even. I made sure it made sense(no team has players in both the GCL and AZL now), and made sure it was a team with only 6 minor league affiliates, so now they have 7 like most teams do.

Please see the readme for more detailed info and installation instructions...
I will be posting the players image files later tonite as I dont have time right now.

Part 1 is available here for DL now:
http://www.theperfectgame.net/forums...p?download=159

Part 2 is uploading as we speak and will be available in the sme place---under Mods, OOTP2006, Miscellaneous Files

Enjoy! Please post any comments or questions below

Did you get any info back from the Hudson Valley Renegades of the NY-Penn League ? I live about 4 miles from the stadium (Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, NY) and could probably easily get the info for you.

(Id check but Im at work)

Excellent, downloading now!

Matter, did you know you can make odd numbered leagues, like the AZL.

If you check out my quickstart, you'll see the AZL with 9 teams.

All I did was create the league with ten teams, then deleted one after I created the game. Then just regenerate a schedule or choose the one in the schedule folder that came with the game.

This is perfect, I just wish we could figure out how to change the start year to 1990 or 1992.

Khan, Thanks for the great tip!! I can't believe I didnt think of trying that, but it is definitely good to know! Its a shame we have to trick the computer into being able to create leagues the way they actually are IRL...

I will fix these leagues and re-zip...Also I will add the files to filefront and rapidshare later tonite

File has been updated to version 3.01

Fixed in 3.01:

-Followed Khans advice and removed the teams I added to be able create the league and then re-generated the schedules. Teams removed were:

Cape Coral Devil Rays(GCL)
Phoenix Diamondbacks(AZL)
VSL Dodgers(VSL)

-Updated Mexican League(LMB & LMP) Financials that didn't get reset somehow, so they now have proper salaries, budgets, cashflows,etc...

Just tried to import rosters from avsfan MLB2006 Quickstart into this universe. They import, but team IDs don't match up. Matter's universe has:

List of Teams and their ID's:
//5 => ID of Baltimore Orioles
//6 => ID of Boston Red Sox
//7 => ID of New York (A) Yankees
//8 => ID of Tampa Bay Devil Rays
//53 => ID of Toronto Blue Jays
//54 => ID of Chicago (A) White Sox
//55 => ID of Cleveland Indians
//56 => ID of Detroit Tigers
//57 => ID of Kansas City Royals
//58 => ID of Minnesota Twins
//67 => ID of Anaheim Angels
//68 => ID of Oakland Athletics
//69 => ID of Seattle Mariners
//70 => ID of Texas Rangers
//71 => ID of Atlanta Braves
//72 => ID of Florida Marlins
//73 => ID of New York (N) Mets
//74 => ID of Philadelphia Phillies
//75 => ID of Washington Nationals
//76 => ID of Chicago (N) Cubs
//77 => ID of Cincinnati Reds
//78 => ID of Houston Astros
//79 => ID of Milwaukee Brewers
//80 => ID of Pittsburgh Pirates
//81 => ID of St. Louis Cardinals
//82 => ID of Arizona Diamondbacks
//83 => ID of Colorado Rockies
//84 => ID of Los Angeles Dodgers
//85 => ID of San Diego Padres
//86 => ID of San Francisco Giants

compared to avsfan:

// List of Teams and their ID's:
//1 => ID of Baltimore Orioles
//2 => ID of Boston Red Sox
//3 => ID of New York (A) Yankees
//4 => ID of Tampa Bay Devil Rays
//5 => ID of Toronto Blue Jays
//6 => ID of Chicago (A) White Sox
//7 => ID of Cleveland Indians
//8 => ID of Detroit Tigers
//9 => ID of Kansas City Royals
//10 => ID of Minnesota Twins
//11 => ID of Los Angeles (A) Angels
//12 => ID of Oakland Athletics
//13 => ID of Seattle Mariners
//14 => ID of Texas Rangers
//15 => ID of Atlanta Braves
//16 => ID of Florida Marlins
//17 => ID of Washington Nationals
//18 => ID of New York (N) Mets
//19 => ID of Philadelphia Phillies
//20 => ID of Chicago (N) Cubs
//21 => ID of Cincinnati Reds
//22 => ID of Houston Astros
//23 => ID of Milwaukee Brewers
//24 => ID of Pittsburgh Pirates
//25 => ID of St. Louis Cardinals
//26 => ID of Arizona Diamondbacks
//27 => ID of Colorado Rockies
//28 => ID of Los Angeles (N) Dodgers
//29 => ID of San Diego Padres
//30 => ID of San Francisco Giants

Anyone got a quick fix to sort this out???

Demo15 has kindly offered to help sort out the team ID# issue. He has done the MLB roster and it seems to work and he is now working through the various minor league rosters. I extend my thanks to him.

The Perfect Game is not showing version 3.01 and there seems to be a problem with the download link for v3.0. Could you please provide the relevant links when available. Thanks again.

Sorry about that...for some reason, theperfectgame.net has a hard time updating files properly...I have uploaded the latest version at filefront, which seems much easier and less time consuming for people without having to register to download.

Just some things I have picked up/changed:

1) MLB: Division Series (5); League Championship Series (7); World Series (7).

2) MLB Hitter Award: Most Valuable Player.

I'll add to this as I go.

I think this comes down to personal preference. Since pitchers can win the MVP, (Eck, Gibson) the Hank Aaron award is awarded to the leagues best offensive player.

Sorry if you mentioned this, what are you setting the draft rounds for (MLB level) it starts at 5, is this intended or should it be raised.
