Patch 2 update (6/21/2006)

Work continues at pace on the new patch and a new build is going out today to the test team with the following fixes

1.0.2
-----

- Fixed a series of memory leaks causing the game to perform badly the longer it was left open and simming
- Improved the memory footprint of the game when handling large amounts of data
- Improved loading time and game speed
- Trade offers no longer expire after using the back button
- The game now remembers position filters when on the lineup or ratings page
- The free agent pool after creating a league no longer contains top prospects
- Player list now sorted by last names instead of first names
- Fixed scrollbar bug on player history page and other pages
- The AI no longer adjusts lineups for human teams when managing a game
- Fixed problems with the usage of depth chart settings
- Added Wild Pitches to the team pitching stats table
- Added passed balls to the team fielding stats table
- Added player league level to the options available in the filter dialog for player lists
- Tweaked Passed Ball and Wild Pitch frequencies
- Tweaked player position rating calculation & importing
- Fixed importing of OOTP 6.5 HBP ratings
- Middle Relievers are valued less in trades
- Adjusted salaries for closers
- Improved 40-man roster selection AI
- Improved bullpen AI
- Tweaked injury severeness
- Fixed rare crash when viewing league history

Weren't there other ratings that also weren't carrying over? I've been holding off on importing for that reason... Ugh, I'd better check.

A few questions: we already have a config file to tweak PB & WP frequency (One of the greatest additions to the game, BTW). Have they been tweaked in-game or through the config? Will my current config settings become invalid or erased?

On the 40-man roster issue, I think the AI ought never to put a player on there until he has to, i.e. the player is eligible for the Rule-5 draft or is on the active roster. Also, the AI needs to get rid of this fixation with having to have the roster full at all times. I think that would solve a lot of the waiver issues, BTW.

Thank you....

Seems the changes are in-game so the config will override.

Thank you for your prompt response!

But if it's in-game, it seems the config won't overide it, but adjust it. So that the config will have to be adjusted to the new in-game setting to achieve the same results, no? Yes? Maybe?

Marc, are there going to be any updates to allow us to control all aspects of all teams without having the create an individual manager for each team at all levels of the organization. I would like to be able to have total control of all teams for MLB, AAA, AA, A and be the only one to initiate and accept trades, make roster movements, etc Also because I am only player one season, I do not want any fake players to come into the league
Thanks

Can you give us any information on how this was done? Did it have anything to do with what redmarkYankees mentions in post #3 of this thread?

Other ratings that weren't carrying over were for pitchers' WP and Balks and for batters HBP ratings. This needs to be fixed before we can convert our OOTP6.5 leagues into OOTP2006.

Agreed, although it seems silly from my uneducated point of view that one stat would be fixed for importing but the others would not...

This is got to be fixed I've seen some Players and Pitchers get designed for assignment like Mike Jacobs and so on who still have Options left and get a replaced with a fictional person who wasn't allready on the Marlins 40 roster and to make it werser I had active roster to 50 and when I went to change back to 25 lots of Players and Pitchers who had Options left were Designed for Assignment and not taking off the 40 man roster! I might have had to many good Players and Pitchers because the Marlins roster was their 2003 World Series roster and I had this years Players and Pitchers on it to!

In addition to this, please ask Markus if autosim will stop for each team with injuries. Thanks.
