Well....I have a desktop and a laptop that I have the game installed on.
Desktop: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1 GB PC 3200 DDR (Crucial Ballistix) Geforce 7900 GT KO 256 MB Video Card Windows XP Pro Laptop: Intel Celeron M 1.5 Ghz 512 MB PC4200 DDR2 (generic) Onboard Video Onboard Sound Windows XP Home I expected it to run well on my desktop and it does but I've been pleasantly surprised that there isn't a big drop off on my laptop. On either the game runs smooth with improved simming speed. |

Mine takes 30 seconds to load the game. I have replaced the SI logo with something more enjoyable to watch during that time. I can sim a season in a few minutes. |

Mine runs smoothly too. How many leagues are you running at one time? If your computer is a little older that may have something to do with it.

yeah this computer is about 5 years maybe older, its a really crappy computer, i dont even know how much ram i have in it, guess ill just have to wait for my new computer to play.
i tried to play it on this one, but took about an houre and half to just load up my new league i made, then takes about 10 minutes to click on a guy to view in the draft, so yeah it defently take a ton of time for me to even get started =( thanks for the replys though =) |

I used to run OOTP 6.x on my old computer with 128MB of RAM, of which between 16 and 64 MB were shared with onboard AGP graffics, and which playing games was quick, there was a lag of a few minutes to generate the box score, which led to some crashes I was none too happy about. So, i bought 128MB more of RAM, and all of a sudden...WOW. I was no longer able to smoke a cigarette in the time it took to move from one game to another.
Long story short (too late), just a lilttle bit of extra RAM above and beyond the minimum requirements can go a long way. Also, check to make sure that there is nothing running in the background that is using too much of your CPU's thinking power. this can be a major drain on resources fro OOTP, until they can get the memory leak fixed in the new patch, of course. |

(note, this is not a shot on OOTP itself; just that it's a memory hog) |
