Starting 2006 season with real players

So far, I've spent quite some time trying to figure this out and just want to make sure I get it right before embarking on my MLB career! I want to start at 2006 with real players and full player histories. So ... I've downloaded the Lahman database, and was planning to import the year 2005, and set start year at 2006 (clicking show 2005 stats). I'm guessing that this should get the job done???

Sorry if this is a completely stupid question - I just want to make sure I don't realise I've screwed this up in a month's time once I'm immersed in the game.

Looks great by the way - as a long-time CM/FM fan, I'm feeling right at home. A baseball game created by the brilliant team at SI - does it get any better!??

Not a stupid question at all. Welcome to the OOTP addiction.

Here's how you do it:

1. Import from the Lahman database year 2005.
2. When the import is done, change the "Enter Starting Year" to 2006.
3. Have so much fun you explode into little pieces of kibble.

Is it safe to assume that someone will eventually come out with rosters for this year? I don't want to start with 05 rosters.

BTW...yes, this is my first post and my first time venturing into OOTP baseball after playing Baseball Mogul for so long. So far so good...it's a blast.

I'm sure that within a week or so that several roster sets of current players will likely be available.
