HIGA is preparing for 1993 expansion (Colorado and Florida)
Here I Go Again is a 1987 historical league altered to include rookies from 1988-1991 in the farm systems originally that brings in new prospects from that era in draft classes. The league is in it's 5th season and currently has a sim date of 7/31/1991.
We are currently in the midst of the 1991 season and preparing for expansion from 26 to 28 franchises to include Colorado and Florida. If you would like to be considered for either position, please submit an application to our forum at http://kybjones.com/higabb/viewtopic.php?p=4718#4718 Colorado Rockies ![]() City: Denver, Colorado Team Market: Below Average Fan Loyalty: Very Good Current Interest: 75 ![]() Stadium: Mile High Stadium (opened 1948) Capacity: 76,123 Type: Open/Multi-Purpose Surface: Grass Local TV Revenue: $22,000,000 National TV Revenue: $15,000,000 In-Game Cash: $20,000,000 Bank Cash: $10,000,000 Florida Marlins ![]() City: Miami, Florida Team Market: Good Fan Loyalty: Fair Current Interest: 75 ![]() Stadium: Joe Robbie Stadium (opened Capacity: 47,662 Type: Open/Multi-Purpose Surface: Grass Local TV Revenue: $20,000,000 National TV Revenue: $15,000,000 In-Game Cash: $20,000,000 Bank Cash: $10,000,000 Each expansion team will get it's first taste of activity during the 1992 amatuer draft. The expansion draft will follow as the first activity of 1993 (prior to FA and the amatuer draft). Expansion Draft Rules - The period between the flip to 1993 and the end of the expansion draft will be considered a dead period. No transactions between teams may take place. - All protected lists will need to be submitted by "X" date. Any teams that fail to submit a list will leave all players on their roster unprotected. - Each team will protect up to but not exceeding 28 players comprised of up to 14 position players and 14 pitchers. - Every player included on the protection list MUST be on the team's 40 man roster. Any player not on the 40 man roster is automatically unprotected. - A hitter must be eligible at a position defensively in order to be protected in that slot. - All players will be considered position players. Designated hitter will not be a protected slot. (For example, a primary DH with 1B def. eligibility would have to be protected under 1B or Utility slot) - Any pitcher with an endurance of 6 or greater will be considered a SP regardless of what position they are listed as in the game. - Each team will be subject to losing a maximum of 3 players. This total includes a subtotal of no greater than 2 hitters and 2 pitchers. - Each expansion team must select a minimum of 20 players and may select a maximum of 30 players in the 30 rounds of the draft. The team may pass on a maximum of 10 picks. This includes a maximum of 15 hitters and 15 pitchers using the following slots to build the team: C C 1B 2B 3B SS IF OF OF OF OF OF HIT UT HIT UT HIT UT SP SP SP SP SP SP RP RP RP RP RP RP PIT UT PIT UT PIT UT - An expansion team that makes a selection in the expansion draft immediately inherits the full contract for the player, existing MLB and 40 man roster time, and option year status. - Players chosen in the expansion draft immediately lose any no-trade clauses and are tradeable commodities for the ballclub. - An expansion team must adhere to the league's minimum payroll rule. Currently, this is set to $25,000,000 or 60% of the team's total annual revenue, whichever number is greater. Exceptions made on case by case basis with commissioner approval depending on the financial state of the ballclub. League Highlights - "HIGA" is a very active league with 20 original owners. - Established in June 2005. - Uses OOTP 6.5 - Sims 7 league days every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. - Started with modified 1987 historical roster set. - 1-100 actual ratings scale, 1-10 talent ratings scale - Coaches and Scouts turned off. - OOTP financials used. Original television contracts from 1987 will be renegotiated by the game engine after the current season. - American League and National League, both with 2 divisions. - Began with 26 teams from the 1987 season (BAL, BOS, CLE, DET, MIL, NYY, TOR, CAL, CHW, KC, MIN, OAK, SEA, TEX, CHC, MON, NYM, PHI, PIT, STL, ATL, CIN, HOU, LA, SD, SF) - 162 game season, 2 division winners play in the LCS, LCS winners play in the World Series. - Modern Era sim engine, Career mode, simulated minors, Home field advantage enabled, Injuries enabled and low. - Promotions enabled (Miller Lite Beer Night, Topps Baseball Card Day, Louisville Slugger Bat Day, Autograph Day, New Era Cap Day) - Visit Charlie Hustle's Cooperstown Casino for your chance to gamble on OOTP games or real sports for chance to win sim cash. - Read "This Week In Baseball" with Mel Allen after every sim for a breakdown on league news, hot trends, player profiles, and some offbeat humour. - Read "Where Are They Now?" with Jay Johnstone for updates on what players from this era are doing these days. - Visit the Don Money National Bank for depositing and withdrawing cash above and beyond the league file's cash maximum, so that teams may keep their profits without abusing the game's Free Agent and Extension Money Available calculation. - Create and publish franchise marketing campaigns in offseason for chance to be awarded fan interest points by league owner vote. - No-Trade Clauses in place for newly-signed Free Agents and newly-extended players. Restrictions based on salary and/or length of contract in place to discourage abuse of Money Available for sake of gaining or retaining immediate trade assets. League feels this provides a good mix to the free agent pool, more GM financial accountability, as well as better roster stability than often found in OOTP leagues. Full details in rules. - Sim cash incentive for writing team articles. - Stadium builds or expansions as well as relocation is permitted with league approval and financial considerations paid. See rules for details. - Future drafts will be a mix of actual prospects from the era and players created by OOTP. - Changes to league put up for vote on message board. - Full rules are listed in the message board. If any questions, feel free to ask here or via AIM. The league accepts 6.12 or 6.5 exports. View the league forum for full detail into the rules. http://www.kybjones.com/higa87/ Last edited by kybjones; 03-08-2006 at 03:30 PM. |

Very solid league with good GMs. I was a previous GM but had to quit cause of time restraints.
