R. Best
R. Best was a pitcher with the Brooklyn Royal Giants and Cuban Giants during the 1904-06 period. The attached came from a photo of the Cuban Giants, but for some reason or other, Mr. Best was wearing a coat and tie instead of the team uniform.

Edward "Ed" Bolden was the owner of the Hilldale Daisies and the Philadelphia Stars. He also was an official in the Eastern Colored League, the American Negro League, and the Negro National League. He was prominent in black baseball from 1910 to 1950.

Steve Boone
Steve Boone was an umpire in the Negro Leagues circa 1950. There was a pitcher named Steve Boone with the Memphis Red Sox in 1940. I don't have a photo of him, and don't know if it's the same man. To add to the mystery of pitcher Steve, in James Riley's Encyclopedia there's a note to the effect that Steve Boone might have been a mistaken listing, and that the Memphis record could have belonged to Charles "Lefty" Boone instead.
