The fans of the Wolverines have come to expect poor form from their team but June was another very bad month for them to sit through. The team only managed to pick up 6 wins from the 22 games they played during the month. The team are now 8 games adrift at the bottom of the AL table and 18.5 games behind the leaders

Players to make the All Star Squad
Left Fielder Mike Tiernan

All the injury news in June was bad for the Wolverines. They lost Right Fielder Ernie Burch with a hamstring strain. He will be sidelined for 4 weeks. They also lost third baseman Jerry McCormick late in the month. His diagnosis is not good after the team said he will be out for 6 weeks with a fractured tibia.

In an awful month for the team, 1 player managed to shine. That player was Centre Fielder Mike Tiernan. Tiernan picked up 35 hits from 91 at bats in 22 games. He scored 11 runs with 18 RBI's for an average of .385. These figures earned him the AL Rookie of the Month award.

A steady month of play was what the Colonels fans had to accept during June. This has left the fans a little deflated as they start to see the pennant go away from them. The team picked up a record of 11-11 during the month. The team are now 4th in the AL table but have slipped to 8.5 games behind the leaders.

The team picked up Right Fielder John Glenn from the Chicago White Sox via waivers.

They also traded 26 year old Centre Fielder Tom Brown to the Cleveland Blues in exchange for 29 year old Short Stop Arthur Irwin and 20 year old Centre Fielder Taylor Shafer.

Third Baseman Buck Ewing had an excellent month during June. He picked up 32 hits from 88 at bats in 22 games. He scored 21 runs with 17 RBI's for an average of .364.

While the fans of the Giants are still angry at the poor form of their team they were slightly boosted by the fact that they were not the worst team during the month. The team managed to win 10 of the 23 games they played in June. This has lifted them 1 place in the NL table to 7th, 24 games behind the leaders.

Pitcher James Burke and Catcher Chick Fulmer.

Charlie Ganzel returned from injury during the month while Third Baseman Billy Alvord was sidelined for 2 weeks of the month with a foot contusion.

The team made further changes to the squad by trading 29 year old minor league Pitcher George Crosby and 23 year old minor league Left Fielder Dave Beadle to the Boston Americans in exchange for 32 year old Short Stop Dave Rowe.

While the team as a whole is struggling, Pitcher James Burke continues to play well. Burke picked up 6 wins from his 8 games. He pitched 71 innings and gave up 70 hits with 14 earned runs against him. His ERA for the month was 1.77. These figures earned him the NL Pitcher of the Month award.

Their was mixed news for the team on the injury front. They managed to get Pitcher Tim Keefe back from injury at the end of the month. The team lost First Baseman Paul Hines early in the month with a fractured hand. He will be out for 6 weeks. They also lost Catcher Pat Dealy late in the month to a concussion that will sideline him for 2 weeks.

Right Fielder Chicken Wolf turned out to be the top player during the month of June. Wolf picked up 27 hits from 84 at bats from 21 games. He scored 12 runs with 18 RBI's for an average of .321.

This month their were 2 stars with the bat. With the seasons rolling on we have decided to highlight the new boy on the plate in George Van Haltren. This earned him the NL Rookie of the Month award.

The injury news was mixed for the Alleghenys during the month. They managed to get Pitcher Frank Gilmore back to fitness early in the month. They then lost Second Baseman Lou Bierbauer for 3 weeks with knee tendinitis and Right Fielder Cliff Carroll for between 2 and 3 weeks with an intercostal strain. Lou Bierbauer returned late in the month.

Right Fielder Jim Fogarty had a solid month during June. He picked up 31 hits from 95 at bats in 22 games. He scored 13 runs with 13 RBI's for an average of .326.

The team lost Short Stop Charlie Sweeney for 3 weeks of the month with a Quadricep strain. They also lost Catcher Pete Sommers mid month with a fractured thumb. He will be out for 4 weeks.

The team traded 26 year old Pitcher Stump Wiedman to the St Louis Browns in exchange for 23 year old minor league Catcher Tom Quinn and 19 year old Left Fielder Tom Terrell.

It was all good news on the injury front for the Beaneaters in July with both Emmett Seery and John Kerins returning from the treatment table.

It was a mixed month for individual performances but the best came from the returning Left Fielder Emmett Seery. Seery managed to claim 30 hits in his 69 at bats during the 17 games he played. He scored 21 runs and 15 RBI's for an average of .435

The fans of the Blues are trying not to get too excited about a possible AL pennant after they saw their team stretch away from the pack in July. The team picked up an excellent 18 wins during the month while only losing 8 games. They are now 11 games clear of the chasing pack at the top of the AL table.

Mid Month saw the loss of Right Fielder Ed Daily to injury. He will be missing for 6 weeks with a strained knee.

First Baseman Roger Connor continues to lead the team on the batting front. His July figures saw him claim 39 hits from 102 at bats in 26 games. He scored 21 runs with 23 RBI's for an average of .382. These figures earned him the AL Batter of the Month award.

The fans of the Wolverines were surprised in July as they saw their team pick up a winning record during the month. The team won 13 games during the month while only losing 12. They still sit bottom of the AL table and are 23 games behind the leaders.

The team saw the return of right fielder Ernie Burch from the injury list.

Young Starting Pitcher Mike Smith finally found some form from the mound in July. He won 7 of the 9 games he started while pitching 80 innings. He gave up 70 hits and 19 earned runs for an ERA of 2.14. This earned him the AL Pitcher of the Month award.

The AL rookie of the Month award which went to his team mate Mike Tiernan for an average of .333 with the bat.

The Louisville Colonels continued to drop away from the leaders during July giving the fans worries over how bad the season will get. The team managed a 12-14 record during the month. They are now sitting 5th in the AL table, 14.5 games behind the leaders.

The fans of the Giants cant wait for the season to finish after their teams form dipped again in July. The team managed a 10-17 record during the month. They are back on the bottom of the NL table, 28.5 games behind the leaders.

There was bad news for Second Baseman Bill Greenwood after he was diagnosed with a severe concussion. He will be out for some time as he is listed as being out for 9 months.

Short Stop Kid Baldwin managed to show some form during July. He picked up 36 hits from his 115 at bats during the 27 games he played. He scored 19 runs with 21 RBI's for an average of .313.
