So, officials can't? I thought there were 3 bad calls/no-calls (Hasselbeck tackle, no offsides on Pitt, no horse collar call on Pitt) in the game. How many passes did Stevens drop? How many feet did Jackson get in? You CANNOT expect perfection from officials when you don't expect it from players, coaches, fans, etc. 3 bad calls in a game is not bad. It's probably average. And I can go ahead and hear "But this is the Super Bowl ..." I don't care. You can never ever expect perfection out of anyone. The Seahawks did get slightly (slightly is probably too strong a word) screwed, but they screwed themselves moreso.

If you compiled one big list each call would have multiple *hits* from different lists and there would be about 8 to 10 total.

Oh well. I give up. The Seahawks were outplayed grossly on 3 plays and can definately stand to improve next year. Here's looking forward to the off-season and next year!
arguing about officating is like arguing about politics. No-one is ever convinced their wrong, and nothing changes unless something drastic happens.

either way it was fun. Glad I'm not a football fan though

No officials can't! Of course you CAN expect perfection from them, that's ludicrous. When the players and coaches make crucial mistakes they pay for it by losing the game, they are the ones who suffer for their own mistakes.

When the officials screw up it costs teams victories and doesn't cost the refs a damn thing.

You can't seriously be making the comparison between a totally blown game changing call by a ref and a safety blowing his coverage.

Unreal.

There was no totally blown game changinh call by a ref. How can I say that? Because there is no call in that game that 100% every viewer agrees caused Seattle to lose. Simply put, no call will ever change a game's final results. 60 minutes of playing and officiating determines that.

Oh, and by your rationale, the Detroit players repeatedly playing horrible DO have an impact on people besides themselves. Mooch, where are you?

Your post is an example of what is wrong with sports fandom. I truly mean no offense to you or your character. However your response is completely ridiculous. When you make a mistake at work, it's not just you who could feel the impact.

And I think you don't understand that when officials mess up, they do pay consequences. Officials get fired, fined, humiliated, endangered.

Since when should someone be perfect on their job? Nobody should be expected to be perfect. If the Presidents of this country cannot be expected to be perfect, why should NFL officials?
