Okay, I won't fool with that.

I am curious, however, about which file deems the number of teams in any particular year.

Also, are the teams that rookies enter the league in still following the logic that you used in v14? Such as Ruth going to the Yankees?

I believe it is the team with which the player played the most or is most associated with. i.e. Ruth is a Yankee, Jose A Bautista is a Blue Jay, Jose B Reyes is a Met, Russell Martin is a Dodger, Mark Buehrle is on the White Sox etc, etc.

Weird bug

I made a whole new start with my sims using this database (I deleted the old ones, so I can't check if that happened back then, too) ...

The plan is/was to sim through 1968 and take over the Seattle Pilots - I created AAA, AA and A and didn't change any other settings.

For some strange reason, the game creates a new division, the AL West for the 1914 and 1915 season before it disappears again.

This would not be the big problem - but players on these AL West teams never re-enter the league.

Do you have any ideas what may be wrong ??

AL West = Federal League

When the league folds you need to make its players free agents as Markus has chosen not to automate that process for folded teams and leagues. There is an explanation and how to in this thread.

I guess Bristolduke deserves a special mention/hat tip for all his toil prior to RD being automagically available. I never used one of his RD databases, but I heard they were really good.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but something is still amiss with the fielding2 stats for many players, particularly OF in 2013. The following OF appear to play one inning per game played in the OF (should be closer to nine if they were starters) and record zero TC (blank fields for PO, A, E, DP), which will crash their fielding ratings:

Dustin Ackley (CF only, 2B looks OK) (ackledu01)
Abraham Almonte CF (almonab01)
Zoilo Almonte LF (almonzo01)
Alexi Amarista (CF only, 2B looks OK) (amarial01)
Rick Ankiel RF (ankieri01)
Norichika Aoki RF (aokino01)
Oswaldo Arcia LF (arciaos01)
Jeff Baker (LF only, 3B and 1B look OK) (bakerje03)
Brandon Barnes CF (barnebr02)
Jose A Bautista RF (bautijo02)
Mike Baxter RF (baxtemi01)
Jason Bay LF (bayja01)
Carlos Beltran RF (beltrca01)
Engel Beltre CF (beltren01)
Roger Bernadina LF (bernaro01)
Quintin Berry LF (berryqu01)
Charlie Blackmon CF (blackch02)
Gregor Blanco CF (blancgr01)
Kyle Blanks (RF only, 1B looks OK) (blankky01)
Willie Bloomquist (LF only, SS and 2B look OK) (bloomwi01)
Brennan Boesch RF (boescbr01)
Brian Bogusevic LF (bogusbr01)
Emilio Bonifacio (LF only, 2B looks OK), (bonifem01)
Julio Borbon CF (borboju01)
Jason Bourgeois LF (bourgja01)
Peter Bourjos CF (bourjpe01)
Michael Bourn CF (bournmi01)
Jackie Bradley CF (bradlja02)
Michael Brantley LF (brantmi02)
Ryan J Braun LF (braunry02)
Andrew M Brown RF (brownan02)
Corey Brown LF (brownco01)
Domonic Brown LF (browndo01)
Jay Bruce RF (bruceja01)
Nick Buss LF (bussni01)
Joey Butler LF (butlejo04)
Marlon Byrd RF (byrdma01)

I apologize profusely for not tracking these down until now. Make you a deal. I promise to track down each and every one of these $%^&ers, if you promise to fix them when you get a chance. Keep in mind it only appears to be the 2013 fielding2 files and all of them so far have been OF, so we'll blame it on that Lahman guy for branching out and trying new things (the nerve! ).

So I lasted through the Gs. Less to do tomorrow and the rest of the week.

I'm also noticing that most of these guys only have one OF position regardless of whether that was the case or not IRL. I don't know if that's a design decision by you or not. It's your database, design it your way. I know Mr. Lahman probably left you hangin' with these guys. We'll get it sorted out eventually.

The neutering does things by groups so I'll just need to see what is different in the Lahman betwixt 2013 and 2012 or 2014. Once I adjust for that the rest will fall in line.

What I'm seeing (1.0 inning played in the field per game played plus blank fields for PO, A, E, DP) is very widespread in 2013, and is still evident in 2012, 2011 etc. but nowhere near as widespread. I'll keep trackin' it and postin' it.

All outfielders are fixed, found a few in every year 2009-2014. Lahman info and format had changed which does not bother the fielding.csv but highly bothers the neutering process.

While researching these I found that some players are missing a stint or two....Austin Jackson has his time with Seattle but no Detroit as an example. I corrected the blank stints in Lahman but I am of the opinion something else is afoot as well.
