Randy Johnson has a mild abdominal strain. He will take a few days off but then he should be fine.

Michael Hall was set to make his season debut but the game in Kansas City was rained out. Tomorrow is now a double header.

The Jays claimed a former Jay, Pepe Romero, off waivers from the Angels.

Joe Carter was named AL Player of the Week!

Bret Saberhagen of the Astros won for the NL.

The Blue Jays fell to #16 on the Weekly Power Rankings.

Jeff Brantley is sent to Cornwall to make room for Romero.

The team has also hinted that Michael Hall may be shifted back to the bullpen to allow Fernando Venezuela to start.

Ramon Martinez was incredibly erratic, yet he managed to make the most of it - he walked TEN batters but pitched into the 10th, holding off the Orioles enough for Randy Johnson to hit an 11th inning home run to give the Jays a 4-3, walk-off win.

Eddie Murray also homered for Toronto.

WP - Lee Smith (1-1)
LP - Jose Medine (0-2)

Record - 6-8
