Iguchi doesn't anger me. I absolutely despise Podsednik (he's in my Top 10 Most Overrated MLB Players...probably Top 5). I just don't think he has a whole lot of talent for things important to winning baseball games. Plus, there's speculation in my family that one of my cousins slept with him on at least one occasion. (I didn't like him long before I found out about that)

Hopefully you like our rotation though.
Define like. Are they a good rotation? Of course. The only one I really like in a fan sense is Buehrle. That's my problem with this team from a fan standpoint: I just don't feel good cheering for these guys. They seem like nice enough people for the most part, I just don't find them all that likable.

I might find it in me to like him if he didn't kill my White Sox spirit.

Heard today this was the first time with four straight CGs in the playoffs for one team since the 1928 Yankees.

Holy ****! The White Sox are going to the World Series!

I officially take back every bad thing I have ever said about Joe Crede.

For the record, let me just say that Mike Scioscia = Class Act. He had every reason to gripe and complain and get really, really pissed during this series, and he maintained an extremely professional demeanor. Major props to him. I am, however, surprised that he let K-Rod go out there in the 9th considering how wild he was in the 8th. I'm doubly surprised that he didn't have somebody warming up sooner - when the entire pitching staff was available, Scioscia stuck with a guy who was having terrible trouble finding the strike zone.

I had been thinking that about the Angels before the ALCS.

Like the Sox witih Vlad Guerrero.
Of course, I didn't expect Vlad to go 1-for-20 (and that one hit was an infield single). I didn't expect the Sox 'pen to throw SEVEN PITCHES in the series. I didn't expect the umpiring to be as bad as it was. I didn't think the Sox could take advantage of those mistakes so many times. I didn't expect K-Rod to almost turn into Rick Ankiel in the clutch. Then again, I didn't really expect the Sox to make the playoffs, either - my "The Sox are done" posts back in September got lost in the board crash.

But it all happened.

Ozzie's bullpen management was the difference.

Well, it's better than the incoherent yelling and hollering I was doing last night.

Yeah, I wonder when the last time a bullpen had an ERA of 0 for an entire series. Hell, since I'm asking the question, the answer will probably be "Last week, doofus, when the (insert team here) bullpen shut down the (insert other team here)!"

Yeah, now I'm an Astros fan, and I was way too worried about Game Four to be doing any trash talk. Still, I am now cautiously optimistic about "our" chances of going to the Series. Pettitte was a better pitcher than Carpenter this season, so there's a good chance this could end tonight. It's unlikely the Cardinals will beat Pettitte, Oswalt, and Clemens, but it could happen. I don't think I'm going to really believe the Astros have made the Series until the first pitch of Game One is thrown.

Yeah, although I don't like St. Louis' chances here (but Cards fans should remember an NLCS team blowing a 3-1 series lead -- it happened as recently as 1996, IIRC), I didn't like the Marlins chances having to beat Prior and Wood either.

Try 2003. Beckett 2-hit the Cubs in Game 5, and then came into Wrigley and...well...you know.

d00d, I'm trying to point out when the Cards did it.

Red Sox in 2004, White Sox in 2005, Cubs in 2006? It appears baseball is trying to put all its curses to rest in one fell swoop.

This is what happens when we get rid of steroids! Bring 'em back!

I mean, Jeebus, does this mean the Indians will win 2007? The Devil Rays will have a winning record (which is possible -- hooray for new leadership!)? The Rockies will have a team ERA under 3.50?

Will the All-Star game end in another tie? Would that mean the World Series would be played at a neutral site?

Will someone in MLB finally say, "Yeah, we realize it's stupid to have 6 teams in the NL Central and only 4 in the NL West?"

None of these things seemed likely but one year ago. But if the NL fails to win this year's series, and the Cubs start running away with the Central next year, I'm building a bunker.

How can I put this? Oh, yeah.

THERE IS NO WHITE SOX CURSE.

Don't you believe the "Black Sox Curse" swill that the media's been inventing over the last couple weeks - it doesn't exist. Never has.
