The WalMart issue vexs me. On the one hand it destroys all the small shops in the area it hits. On the other hand it gives working people more for their money.

It's the same kind of thing here but the Wal Mart of England is a store called Tesco which as 3 stores near me within 4 miles of each other, they just opened a store about 600 yds away from me but the sole reason for that is there's a small store called Kwik Save across the road from it and they just want to put that out of business really.

Sigh

Whats the point?

Big business and Big government are hella inefficient and need small counterparts for innovation. What happened to the anti-trust laws? I'd rather pay a little more so small operators can remain in the market.

Sorry missed the capacity hmmm think it's 10,000 and the record is around 7,500 for a Leigh RMI game in a cup replay but forget who it was against.

1998 FA Cup replay Leigh RMI v Fulham 7,024

But their actual record for a Leigh RMI/Horwich game is 8,500 in 1954 against Wigan Ath in a Junior Lancashire Cup game, Latics at that time were a non league club.

Building work has begun on the new Leigh Sports Village that will eventually provide a new stadium for both Leigh RMI and Leigh Centurions rugby league club in an exciting development for the town - follow the link on the left hand side for more details.
Will a pitch be able to hold up for use by two teams???

It will be home to Leigh RMI and Leigh RL but and not really read much about it, but it will be what their calling a sports village so I'm thinking something like a football/rugby league stadium with training pitches and possibly athletics track and such.

Leigh RMI's ground already does it was and still is mainly a rugby league ground before they moved into it, the rugby league team are bigger than the football team they average around 2,000 a game their called Leigh Centurions.

Is Northern England more a rugby area than a football area?

Wigan Athletic's ground also does the same as Leigh's with football and rugby being played on it, Leigh's pitch doesn't do to bad under 2 sports but Wigans pitch as suffered as there's something wrong with the drainage.

No it's mainly a football area, rugby league is played in the north west with only 2 teams (London and a French team) that play outside of the North of England, most of the rugby teams average less than the football teams that share the same towns and cities with them probably the ones with exception are rugby teams who share towns and stadiums with non league teams aka Leigh.

Rugby League Teams - Football Teams
St Helens* - St Helens Town (non league)
Hull - Hull City*
Leeds - Leeds United*
Bradford - Bradford City (about the same)
Salford - Man Utd*
Warrington* - Warrington Town (non league)
Harlequins - ?
Huddersfield - Huddersfield Town*
Wigan - Wigan Athletic*
Wakefield - Leeds United*
Catalan - Bordeaux* (I think)

The astrix shows who averages more, Harlequins do have a football team near them but can't figure out who. I'd put good odds on the football team averaging more per game no matter who it is though, as you can see though only way a rugby team beats the football team attendance wise is if it's a non league football team.

Rugby teams average anything from 2,000 - 14,000 in the top division but if you took a league average I'd say it's around 3,000 - 4,000 tops.
