For the fun of it I tried the AI on him... so you have a choice, but personally I prefer the one I did without AI assistance.
The FG is based on the Dodgers photo you put in your original post...

Looks like prospects Cody Thomas thomas000cod and Cal Stevenson steven000cal can use facegens.

Cal Stevenson
The SF Giants acquired outfielder Cal Stevenson in a trade with the Oakland Athletics for cash considerations on Wednesday morning. The A's had designated Stevenson for assignment last week. Stevenson was a 10th-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays back in 2018 and was traded twice throughout his minor league career, going from Toronto to the Tampa Bay Rays organization before he was traded to the A's in 2022. After he was acquired by Oakland, Stevenson made his big-league debut with the Athletics last season. He struggled mightily in 71 plate appearances, hitting .167/.261/.217 with 23 strikeouts and eight walks. Now 26, Stevenson's profile should sound familiar to Giants fans who have grown accustomed to president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi's churn of the 40-man roster.
A Fremont, California native, Stevenson has had an excellent approach in the minors, walking more than he's struck out over his minor-league career. He has above-average speed, which plays well in center field and allows him to play all three outfield positions. However, he has struggled to generate extra-base hits throughout his career in the minors, raising questions about whether his offensive game will ever translate to the highest level. Over his Triple-A career, Stevenson has hit .289/.397/.414 with 51 walks and 57 strikeouts in 336 plate appearances. Here's Cal. As for Cody, that image isn't the one in the CUF pack. I did a nice clean shaven one with a Dodger's picture. He sports a beard, I think, now but I'm going to see what he has come Spring Training before overwriting the Dodger one. Hit auto-refresh on that pic, percolaten, and let me know if updates to the one currently in the CUF.

Lans,
I just reloaded the CUF, and the pic didn't auto-refresh. Then loaded your "just my" pack, and it didn't auto-refresh, either. Are you sure you have it as thomas000cod? |

Cody Thomas
Quote:
If he gets decent bearded shot this Spring, I'll prob do him over as he seems attached to the facial hair these days. Maybe that's what I was thinking. That I did him off the Dodger picture but then realized he has facial hair now, thought I'd have to do him over once he gets a decent picture w/ the facial hair in the Spring, so leave him marked as undone (the undone in the checklist excel file is what prompts me to do someone). As an "undone" on the Excel, I wouldn't have drug him over to the CUF. Prob more process than you cared to know... but in any case. Try this one.

LansdowneSt do you think you could find some minutes to do Johnny Broaca for me? I tried and I tried and everything I produced look subpar to me... the glasses just doesn't show up correctly, seriously look what is the best attemp I did. If you don't have the time this is what I'll put in my 1934 season file but he will need to go on your to be done later list...

Johnny Broaca
At age 24, Johnny Broaca had seemingly limitless potential. His multiple athletic skills and academic prowess had lifted him from first-generation American working-class beginnings through a prestigious preparatory school to a Yale degree and a vital spot on the Ruth-Gehrig Yankees’ pitching staff. But a defiant, self-destructive temperament, more than a year voluntarily absent from baseball after walking out on his team, and fallout from a marriage that was over almost before it began left him hanging on as a marginal major leaguer only five years later. He was out of baseball by age 31 and by 36, was doing menial labor to minimize child support obligations and living, as he chose to do for the rest of his life, as a recluse. - SABR
Glasses came through okay on this one, I think. Or at least as best as I think I can get them.

Thanks! Those guys with thin glasses aren't easy to do, just playing with the sliders a little bit make them disapeared but yours show just enough to see he wears glasses.

Everything available from him was long after his playing days when he was a coach but working with an AI and some manual cleaning I got a young looking photo. Yeah that was much work for a guy with 4 AB career but he doesn't have a smoothed look anymore

Hey AESP, I've got a really tricky request for you, so of course don't tackle it if you don't want to. For my '70's A's quickstart, the very last facegen I need with facial hair is Joe Horlen. During his last year in pro ball, he ended a rather solid career by being part of the OG 'Mustache Gang' in '72. I couldn't find any 'stached photos of him except these two, tricky to work with, I know. Hope you're having a great day, thanks for all your facegens!

I have three more 1935 Cubs' rookies to do for the universal pack before but I'll give him a try after since I must switch game version to do him.

I didn't expect to do something good considering the image source (I was unable to find a better one than what you provided) but with some help from an AI and some cleaning the result isn't bad at all I think. I have used the one with the cap as the basic template and the black and white is the after AI / cleaning image I used to create the FG.

Watching random baseball stuff tonight I came across this, if anyone wants to take a shot at a Kyle Stowers non-smiler.

Looks like we could use a better facegen for Jay Ward. There wasn't a facegen under his game ID of ward--005joh but I found the current facegen under ward--001jay. The B & W photo is the only one from his playing days I could find where his face isn't at a significant angle, (looks like the original facegen came from that) so I included a later one from his coaching days as an Expo.

LansdowneSt will probably do it later since he played in the seventies but the one I have in my folder is better than what you posted, I share it so you'll have something worthwhile until he is redone.
It's an old one so he isn't on par with what I do now...

AESP, in your folder, do you have a younger Chris Chambliss? The ones I have are Lansdowne's great Yankees-era one with the facial hair, and another based on a photo of him as an older man. For my 70's quickstart I'm looking for a clean-shaven one from his rookie-of-the-year Cleveland Indians days.
