What would likely happen if you unretired the players we'd added earlier, but which you'd previously retired, if they were still young enough to play here, and not yet coaches or other front office personnel here? Just wondering, that's all. At least in your view, that is? Would they still possibly have decent enough player ratings, or would we have to readjust them, as if they'd missed seasons just like players like Ted Williams, for example, did in our real world's history, for various reasons? CD out.

1909 MLB Final Standings and League Semifinal playoff matchups
American League #4 Milwaukee Brewers vs. #1 Hartford Huskies #3 Boston Red Sox vs. #2 New York Yankees National League #4 New York Mets vs. #1 Florida Marlins #3 Montreal Expos vs. #2 Chicago Cubs It's certainly possible to get a World Series rematch. Last year's champion Florida finished 1st in the National League, and reigning AL Champion NY Yankees finished 2nd. The Yankees will face their arch rival, the Boston Red Sox in the first round. Here in the playoffs for the first time are the Chicago Cubs. Missing out on the playoffs for the first time are the St. Louis Cardinals. Last edited by jg2977; 01-22-2023 at 08:46 AM. |

South Fork is back in the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. They were the winners of the 1876 and 1880 Pro Cups. This is their 14th playoff appearances. The Stallions have been to the Union Title Series 8 times, captured 5 TU pennants, and won 2 Pro Cups.
Arlon is making their 2nd playoff appearance. In 1906 they reached the TU Title Series where they were defeated by Tuckanarra. Last edited by jg2977; 01-22-2023 at 08:55 AM. |

Tuckanarra won two consecutive TU pennants in 1906 and 1907. After bowing out in the Elite Eight Series last year, they are looking to get back to the Pro Cup Series and win the whole thing this time.
Midway has failed to win a playoff game in their first two postseason appearances (1905 and 1907). They hope to end that losing streak in Game 1 at home vs. the Blue Jays. |

Beechwood is back in the playoffs for the first time since they won their Pro Cup in 1905.
Sligo has lost in the Union Title Series the past two years and they are looking to get over the hump and reach the Pro Cup Series for the first time. |

Waleska lost in the first round the past two years. In the inaugural season of the IPA, 1871, they made it to the RU Title Series but lost to eventual champion Fort Benton.
Far Mountain reached the RU Title Series in 1903, 1904 and 1906 but lost each time, so they are looking for their first Pro Cup appearance as well. |

They'd have missed only a few seasons, at most, right? Of course, one or two of them may now be too old to play here. Meaning if they're 46 and above at the start of the 1910 season, they'd not be able to play anyway. But if they're still young enough to keep reasonably close to their last known ratings, that might be sufficiently workable here.
Of course, they may not have as good of ratings in certain areas of their profile as they had in those areas before being manually retired here, you know. But maybe they could still have at least ratings within five to ten percent of what they had before, whether they'd be above or below such ratings from when they were manually retired earlier, if they'd be close in age to when most players' prime years would be occurring for them, I think. Even after missing substantial time due to service in our Armed Forces during certain conflicts, Ted Williams, for instance, was still able to perform well as a player, if memory serves. And I think his ratings still were sufficiently high, or could/would be, at least in OOTP terms, if I'm not too mistaken here, jg2977. If you bring back those who you manually retired who'd still be substantially under the current age limits at the start of 1910, then we could perhaps explain their absence away as several of them having been drafted or something, I think, here, into their applicable nations' Armed Forces, or something else entirely in each of their lives. You've already advanced past the point when that Italian player I'd suggested would have likely debuted, as well, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we can't actually include him here. I'll just have to perhaps adjust his ratings or not, when I propose him to you, if I haven't already done so. And/or those of any other players who'd been slotted in for debut years that have already passed by now. Of course, if any of them have already become coaches or other kinds of front office personnel, it might be somewhat difficult to bring most of them back here, you know. In THAT case, we'll probably not be able to here, unfortunately, if so. If they haven't, then it might not be as difficult as it would be otherwise to do here. The ones already over 45 years old won't be able to be brought back as players, meaning in essence, all proposed players from the first generation are aged out now of both main leagues here. Only second-generation players will still potentially be young enough to perhaps play in this dynasty, until they each age out themselves as well, it seems to me. And that's perfectly fine with me here, because that goes along with the overall plan we'd both had in mind here for it, already, anyway, for players in this dynasty. CD out.

As far as reporting on them, I'd leave that entirely up to you here, in terms of how specific you want to get and when you'd want or need to report on them. As for screenshots related to the players who can't be brought back as players due to them passing the age limit, those can certainly be posted in my graphics thread, I think. Those players who you've not yet done related screenshots for after their careers were done are probably Tanner Garber, Barrett Parverol, and Simon Clairborne, if memory serves me correctly here. All the other first-generation players, I believe you shared their relevant statistical pages as they stood after the ends of their careers, at least for the most part, if not entirely. Although there may still be some Jeddy Holmes-related career information you may not yet have posted there, as well.
The Freemans and Follis should all go back on the Cardinals, Bradley Parverol on the Marlins, and Jerry Holmes on the Giants, along with Hugh Clairborne on the Dodgers, if he isn't still there. When you bring them back, if you do, perhaps you can use their original proposed ratings as a base guide for their new ratings, more or less, and see how close they'd each then perhaps match up with their last known ratings and all, I think, and go from there as necessary and desired. As for the Morses, they should all go back on their respective last known teams here, too, of course, as should any of their rivals who've already played in your dynasty before, if they're from the second generation of players for it. I also wonder how it was actually quite possible for a 36-year-old player who might have already played in MLB for a few years to win the Rookie of the Year for it in 1908, if they did so here I think I definitely saw him active in MLB a few seasons ago, actually. So maybe the reset service time for people when they change leagues might currently be checked by accidental mistake here for both leagues in your current dynasty here, somehow. It shouldn't be checked here, you know, jg2977, if it is. CD out.

I'll have to see who the last player or players I submitted to you is or are, and also make up at least one profile for those who likely haven't debuted yet in your dynasty, if I haven't already, most likely. There are probably a few profiles I haven't yet sent your way, but not sure yet here, about that.
Of course, I will continue to work hard on my main story's first draft, in hopes that I'll soon be able to resume or start coverage of one or more of my dynasties here on the forums. For I really would like to spend at least a little while playing OOTP here, soon, if I can, once I do. It's been a very long and often very difficult struggle with this story, and I need to finish its first draft, at least, so I can then hopefully take a break from it for at least a little while here, I think. CD out.
