Great job...My only suggestion is to get rid of those player files..there are so many of them and there are a lot of player files we can get to (your files don't match up when I import my 2006 league)..(I prefer the names over the numbers)..Anyone else feel this way?

Well, finally found a way to pull this off. Same basic idea as before.

I exported the rosters from avsfan534's and DBR's updated 2.0 quickstart, found over at the rosters forum (about 50 real players from each team based on one of Cubby's old files).

Saved the exported file as a .csv of course, loaded up Matter's league/universe, imported the roster file to Matter's MLB league and everything seemed to transfer correctly, including the minor league players and their respective teams.

The only drawback is that all the MLB players are listed as American (From the quickstart's rosters), but I can deal with that for now. I also had to fool around with the images file, because the "player_1234" photo files seemed to be causing problems with Wrightwing's facepack photos for MLB. Basiacally just deleted all of the "player_xxxx" photos and now everything is brilliant.

Real MLB/Minors players, MLB/Minors player photos, logos for all teams worldwide, and, of course, a 100% accurate worldwide universe in general. I'm finally ready to actually play a bit, though I might do some of the nationalities myself just to hold me over until Cubby's new set comes out...

Yeah, looks like I may have jumped the gun a bit in my excitement. The contracts/salaries don't seem to import correctly either with the method described above. Drag. Back to the drawing board...

Had me excited... except for the last post. lol

Looks like I'll have to import my 6.5 league and set everything up myself. Oh well, I'm still waiting on a patch to fix the waivers and a few other issues I've read about.. maybe by then something will allow a quickstart with imported rosters.

Well, there is an option I just came across that "...turn[s] all player contracts into fictional calculated contracts based on player ratings/values." If one is truly hard core about realism, this may not be adequate, but its certainly better than what I was at before.

Pujols is now making $13,377,000 for the 2006 season instead of $385,000 (!). He's got one year left. Smoltz, who previously was somehow condemned to a minor league deal despite being on the active Atlanta roster, is now set to make $5,500,000 for the 2006 season. He also has one year left. I could go on forever with examples, but the point is, given everything else this universe has going for it, I'm just gonna roll with it until Cubby flies in and saves the day.

I apologize for getting your hopes up Mizzou , but I think there is indeed light ahead...

I appreciate your help Cieron.

I think there needs to be an MLB "default" universe or quickstart that will allow importing of 6.5 universes. I wonder if Markus could do something like that?

yeah this is because the roster export only exports ratings and such..no salary info..I do find the fictionalizing of salaries pretty satisfying..
