I am just a stickler for things being perfect.....I am pretty sure I will only need this one reboot to get it rolling....but who knows?.....20 seasons in I may decide that I have been doing something wrong all along and have to start over......I hope not, but it's better to me to restart than to live with something I know is messed up....anyway, life is not about the destination.....

I've re-rolled the teams for 1876 and against the odds, Troy got a team, so I guess I will start as their manager again and see how it goes......

Sad to see you have to restart this, but I applaud your commitment to excellence. I'm having those very same issues with pitchers, but I'm just letting it ride. Good luck getting the A.I. to make smart decisions with 1 or 2 man staffs.

As for teams drafting on talent instead of need, my only suggestions would be to reduce the number of players you're putting up for draft, so that its physically impossible for a team to draft 3 SS's in the draft, or to edit the number of positions a player is rated at. If a guy comes in with 1's at 2B and SS and an 8 at 3B, just edit away those ratings at 2B and SS. The A.I. may be overestimating a players ability to adapt to a position. Never tested that, and it doesn't sound fun, but it might work.

Teams are only drafting 5 players and they are basically major-league ready. What I want to prevent is the superstar rightfielder being drafted by the team with the best rightfielder in the League, but still allow the better teams first pick at the players.

Little Update: I've gone back and restarted from scratch, making some improvements to the way I was doing things. I am currently playing through Spring Training. I rerolled all the teams and Troy came up with a club again, so I am playing as them for 1876. Had to pick last this time in the inaugural draft since they were the smallest market this time. But I went for blood and plan on winning the pennant for 1876.

Should be ready to start the regular season sometime this coming week.

Thank you for your patience.
