This is the best player I've ever seen...
His name is William Valentine, he was a 1st overall pick in 2006, (its going into 2011 now) went straight to the majors where he hit about 41 hrs batting .320........he is a full 5 gold star super star, with the ratings:
Contact: 87 Power: 100 Eye/Patience:100 LF: 85 CF:86 54 Running speed, 89 Stealing ability, 98 Running instincts... he never played a minor league game and has never batted below .300, never hit below 40 hrs, never had less than 100 runs or 100 rbis so far.... In his scouting report it says he is one of the top 5 players in the history, and a for sure Hall of Famer. However, his entire career he has been on the worst team, and for the first time, IS A FREE AGENT THIS OFFSEASON, and i just finished with the best record in the majors, and i have a buttload of cash to throw at him..........i pray i can get him |

Of course, you know you won't get him, since he "simply won't like your organization".

I think I got you beat,
3B Cameron Pemberton (Con:98/Power:100/Eye:60/K:63) Career numbers over 11 yrs .348 499hrs 1514rbi oh he can field (6 fielding awards) and to prove he is a 5 tool player has 262 career stolen bases.. Makes 27million a year though heh. Unfortunately for him he plays for the Atlanta Braves of my league who have won 13 straight division titles and have 1 World Championship to show for it. |

after the offseason on march 30th i clicked offer extension, and he asked for 13+ mil for 3 years...we ended up agreeing on 15 mil per year for the next 7 years. I figured that is still a bargain considering if he went into the FA signing id have to probably give him a deal in the 20 mil range.
It's always nice having "one of the top 5 players in the history" on your team for the next 8 years |

I just had a guy I drafted 3 season ago with the 3rd pick get this entry into the player development page;
Nick Lannon seems to have taken his game to the next level! What does this mean exactly? He is quickly becoming a superstar in the majors. Still curious about how he has taken his game to the next level. |

My best player was an outfielder from Baltimore named George...
He retired in 1940 with a career AVG of .315, .455 OBP, .693 SLG. Also, 3532 Hits, 583 2B, 206 3B, 2954 R, 2758 RBI, 2936 BB. 797.7 Win Shares. 14 time Batter of the Year, 19 time All-Star, 2 World Series Rings. Oh, and 1,085 HR. Other notables -- Ted Williams 1.081 OPS/3758 H/717 HR/2379 RBI Ty Cobb .881/4537/126/1962 Lou Gehrig 1.054/3669/564/2077 Mantle 1.019/2491/643/1599 Mays 1.048/2647/723/1834 Mantle and Mays are both 35 and still active. Cobb hit .341 in his last full season, at age 45. The pitching stars so far are 40 year old Satchel Paige -- 374-153, 2.11 ERA, 4753 SO, 61 SHO, 0.93 WHIP -- and Red Ruffing -- 449-222, 2.82 ERA, 4672 SO, 70 SHO, 1.12 WHIP |

The best I've seen was a superb all-tool guy. Don't have the exact numbers but his ratings were very close to this: contact 88, power 95, eye 100+, range 75 to 100 in all 3 OF positions, OF arm 90, and 80 to 95 in all running ratings. And he reached those ability ratings by age 22 or 23. Scary.
I actually got him as a 19-year-old in a trade. Silly AI coughed him up for a fading 32-yo star or two. Problem came around when I had to sign an extension. He was balking at offers all the way up to $21 million so I imagine he ended up getting the $27 million or so mentioned above. |

You have to take a look at Darrin Gross in my signature. He's a born in OOTP3 player who's won 8 straight MVPs and has led his team to a 40-4 start.

I've seen lots of power and eye ratings over 100, but rarely if ever contact. Also, how come 4 or 5 times he's the league MVP but not the team MVP? Maybe this is why the team MVP thing is absent from OOTP6. |
