Suggestion

What about assigning a "tradability" value to each player that would change periodically throughout the season? Sometimes I think a player has more value than the AI does, just would be nice to see when I'm buying low and when I should sell low.

Because part of the appeal of the game is that you have to make a lot of your own value assessments.

The only suggestion I would make is a simpler way of knowing who is on the market.

Good idea, instead of listing "trading block" under league transactions maybe give it it's own category in the league news section called "trading block activity" . That would make it easier. Although, if you go under teams transactions you can see it separately for each team. This takes extra time.

How about a league-wide email when a team puts a player on the block? You recieve an email stating that team 'X' has put player 'Y' on the trade block.

That would be a good idea also.

Make that able to be toggled on and off and that's a heck of an idea.

Hey, Markus!

Absolutely, just add that option under the notifications option on the schedule.

I made this exact suggestion a week or so ago.

Excuse me if I implied otherwise. I was just showing my support for the suggestion.

I like the idea of an e-mail, though, because it stops the sim. If you don't get an e-mail, another team could trade for the player being put on the block before you ever knew he was there.

There are too many sim-stopping emails as it is. I would like to see the trading block just be another separate scroll-down in the league news section, and would also like to be able to turn certain emails off. I don't need to know about promotion day successes every freakin' time. Between that, trade offers, injuries, and emails about minor leaguers, I rarely am able to sim through one week uninterrupted.

As neat as the whole "e-mail" concept is, couldn't the information in the e-mail just appear in the dialog box?

In other words, instead of:
"You have new e-mail. Stop sim (yes/no)?"

... it would be:
"Johnny Pinchhit is hitting .300 and is ready to move up to AA. Stop sim (yes/no)?"

It would be a lot quicker, especially if the auto-save "feature" stays in.

Also, the special interuptions for no-hitters, 500th HRs, etc. should really be "yes/no" dialogs, not just "ok". Currently, you either have to go to the game in progress or turn them off altogether.

If the sim stopping e-mails annoy you, why not disable the e-mail notification option?

I like the e-mail feature. Generally I stop for a trade or injury e-mail if a roster move is required. The rest tend to be things than can wait until the end of the week.

I agree that you should have the choice to go into the no-hitter type interuptions.
