strikeouts
Can anyone get strikeouts to work right in terms of numbers. I have been fooling with it for two days and the best I can get so far is for the leader to have struck out about 150 times. The problem is that I cant increase it much more without making pitcher strikeouts obscene. There are already two starters who are strking out 12 guys per 9. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks |

What kind of numbers are you looking for, and are they realistic with historical stats ?

I guess I would like the leader to strikeout ten to twenty times more. I realize that isnt a big jump, but it getting the realism right is important I guess. I am trying for late 80's early 90's numbers.

That's odd - I've got it so that there are a few hitters with SO's up around 200, but I still don't have ANY starters fanning any more than about 10.4/9, and only a total of four that are above 9/9. What are the "Stuff" ratings for the pitchers that are striking out so many, and what's the average "Avoid K" rating for hitters in the league? Is this an imported league or a league you just started from scratch? What era is it set in?

There's a number of ways to effect the results...
1. Hitter's individual K rating 2. Pitcher's individual K rating 3. League totals (affects entire league) ps: Remember that if your making changes to League totals AFTER your players have already been created/imported, you have to reduce the K total to increase K's and increase the K total to decrease K's. Pitcher ratings in V6 mean.... Quote:

I want to find suitable league totals that will give high k numbers to some hitters but not make the pitching k totals obscene.

Then you'll need to adjust the players you want the high K's from by adjusting their ratings/talents.

Is there a way that will be sustainable over say 50 years?

Not if your changing only individual players. You would have to up the K's in the league totals to do that.
