Merchandising dollars?
I've been wondering something and I figured I'd ask some of you online league guys (I only play solo).
How do you handle Merchandising revenue? I'm of the understanding that this figure is randomly calculated for each team based on the total salaries of the initial team generated by the computer (hope that made sense). But I'm assuming that in most online leagues (which start with a dispersal draft) the commish will "reset" the merchandising revenue so that all teams are equal. Correct? If so, how do you determine HOW HIGH that figure should be? I hope I'm asking this correctly. Any help would be appreciated. |

I edit each team's prior season Merchandising Revenue at the start of the new season to $15mill. (You can't edit it for current season). The current season Merch is nearly entirely based on the amount it was for the previous season. Success / failure on the field appears to have small affects on the totals.
How much you should set it to for every team is dependent on the other financial aspects of your league. How much Broadcasting do the teams get? What is the salary cap? What are the stadium sizes and total revenue?
