I discovered OOTP3 when I started to play in an FPS league online. Started playing v3 and fell in love with the game. Have every version since and enjoying all my online leagues.

Perhaps he meant Season Ticket?

The poll results so far are quite interesting. Of course it's only a small sample, but:

1 - 7
2 - 33
3 - 43
4 - 47
5 - 13
6 - 4

That tells me that 5 might not have reached a lot of new people. If that's true, I hope it changes for 6.

I also wonder if 4 votes is disappointingly low for v6 so far.
I think that is more indicative of new people not joining the Forums, or staying here long...or at least I hope it is.

OOTP3 was my first. If I had known the game existed before I came across 3, I'd have began playing earlier.

Well, I guess you want to nitpick semantics. It was Season Ticket Baseball which is the _exact_ same thing as OOTP 4. There. And yes, it was sold in stores.

OOTP5 for me. The guys over at BBSC convinced me to buy it...which I'm glad.

I first found out about OOTP3, but never purchased the game because I spent most of my time researching it. I was interested in getting a simulation game and Baseball Mogul was the popular one being mentioned in PC Gaming Magazines all the time, so I was a little skeptical. I didn't purchase Baseball Mogul, but came close.

I finally broke down and decided to learn more about OOTP3. That's when I discovered the boards and found out that OOTP4 would be coming out in the spring (it was October or something that I joined the boards).

So I just waited till version 4 came out and have loved the game since.

Geez av chill....But you know, if you told your friends to go to EB and buy this great game OOTP 4, you would have them running around like a blind cat at the Fulton Fish Market!...

4 was my first. I didn't even play it but three or four days, and went back to playing HH. That was of course until v5, and I found out about online leagues.

Is there any plan to release OOTP in retail stores in the future?

one look in the off-topic forum or an innocent discussion on catchers' leadership skills could scare someone off for good

Certainly. That kind of talk should be kept in the Talk Sports forum, where posts still count.

IIRC, I found OOTP during lunch and I knew it was a match made in heaven.
