I hope Reinsdorf first waives Eddie Robinson because he makes TOO much money to be a bench player. Then, he can bust out the wallet and pay Kobe some big money. Chi-town would absolutely fall in love with him

The only way TMac is leaving Orlando is by trade, he's not a free agent after this season. If he is traded they're gonna have to get a big name for him, or at least a few real good players and the salaries will have to be close. Only way the Magic could pursue Kobe is if they dumped TMac for some players that are coming off the books this season, and that would be a dumb idea. Because they're not guaranteed to get Kobe. So they'd be trading away their franchise for a hope at getting Kobe.

I think Kobe will probably stay with the Lakers, but if he does go anywhere, I belive it will be Memphis.

Yeah, I meant to say the Lakers were a good bet to pursue Mcgrady if Kobe left not that they're a good bet to get him.

He is probably more right calling them bogus charges than calling them written in stone. But that is just because everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and since Kobe has not been proven guilty he is still innocent and they can be considered bogus charges. Of course, I would never call the charges anything until the trial was over.

If Grant Hill could ever get healthy, maybe the Magic could trade him for Kobe. Haha. Just Kidding. For the person that says T-Mac has asked for a trade, I am not sure you heard that.

I am a big Orlando fan jaxmagicman, but I think Kobe Bryant is a better player than McGrady. One reason. Kobe plays Defense. Don't get me wrong McGrady can play some mean defense when he wants to, but the problem is, he never wants to. He is a better shooter that Bryant, but you need denfense to win in the NBA.

while I doubt Kobe will be playing for my Nugs next year it's not outside the realm of possibilty that he could be in Colorado for a few years after next summer.

Kobe could join the CPBL. The Colorado Prison Basketball League. That way he'd be playing in Colorado, just not for the team everyone would think.

Frankly, I don't care where Kobe goes if he bails on the Lakers.

But I can tell you this: that team will look an awful lot like this year's Toronto Raptors or Orlando Magic. If Kobe wants to spend the rest of his career fighting to get the #8 spot in the East, the hell with him.

lol a bit hypocritical seeing as Laker fans had no problems with him bailing on the team that drafted him.......

Um.... the deal with Charlotte was in place before they drafted him. They drafted him specifically to send him to the Lakers in exchange for Vlade.

And yeah, I'm a little bitter, but less because Kobe's (probably) leaving and more because he totally pimped for the support of L.A. fans in the rape trial and now he's going to hit the road after he receives his expected acquittal. Whatever..... he certainly has the right to do as he pleases, just as I have the right to think that he's a sleazy rapist bastard.

I agree with your stance to a certain extent. On the Charlotte thing, that wasn't necessarily my point, it wouldn't have mattered who picked him because he HAD to play in LA. There were a bunch of teams he would have demanded a trade from had they picked him and I think it hurt his draft status.

Will you still feel this way if he decides to stay with the Lakers?

Nah, you're missing the point of hypocrisy... the Lakers signed Shaq away from Orlando and now their fans are calling Kobe a traitor for looking at doing the reverse. If Kobe is a worthless turncoat, then so is Shaquille (for the record, I don't believe either player is, but I also have this archaic belief that basketball is first and foremost a business for both the players and the owners).
