I placed everyone on the appropriate teams, as of today. Is there any way to now turn off the draft?

Thanks for the response, I'll set that up when I get home from work tonight and upload the file. I feel it is very accurate. I even researched all of the minor league transactions.

Hey gang,
I am currently working on placing all of the players on their current 40 man rosters using my 2004 update. So far, most teams have at least 30 players...just have to create the ones that did not appear in any games during '03. After this is complete, I will tackle creating realistic R/L splits for the players based on 3 year averages. After the splits/ratings/talents are complete, I will tackle salaries for '04. I have updated the file with historical info (updated 2003 awards in MVP, Gold Glove, ROY, Cy Young Award, career leaders board updated, ) I will keep everyone updated on my progress. * Does anyone know of a good, FREE resource to find info on each teams Top 10-30 prospects? |

Sorry, I never did after learning CBLCardinals is updating everything. It is finished though (just the players on their correct teams), and I'll upload it to Baseball Sim Central if people want it.

hey gang,
Quick update. I've updated 20-game winners, gold glove winners, etc from 2003 and entered them into the file. Currently, the new file has nearly all players on their correct team. I am checking all teams 40-man rosters, and creating players not in the file. I am currently finished with half the teams.... After all players are on their correct 40-man roster, I will go through and update ratings/talents to reflect 3-year splits. I am still searching for *Accurate* 2004 Salary info for MLB players. If anyone has a good source, please let me know! The complete file is still a few weeks away, but progress IS being made...so bare with me. If anyone wants to help out with creating the ACTUAL MLB Schedule for the roster file, I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!! This is last on the list of things to do....hoping someone can step up to the plate and help out! |

the final release is still a few weeks away.
So far, the AL active Roster splits are nearly done. Winston, a member of the OOTP boards, is helping out so we can try and get this thing done soon! Mr.Opinion is also helping out by creating THE 2004 MLB schedule! I've considered releasing an AL "teaser" once the American League splits are complete. With this portion, you can set up a Spring Training-like schedule amongst the AL teams and try the file out! Checklist: Enter 2003 stats - DONE Place players on current teams - DONE Update 2003 award info - DONE American League Splits - nearly done...Tampa, Tex, Tor left... Still "to-do": National League Splits - Contract info + length - Add Prospects - Update players experience - Update Team financial/market/loyalty info - Final adjustments/tweaks - Realistically, the toal project still has several weeks left. Opening Day is still 2 months away; I anticipate the project will be complete late Feb/early March! |

The updated 2004 Lahman Database is out. Just use that for the rosters.

I have ZERO need for the 2004 lahman. I've already updated ALL players stats from 2003 (entering the stats was a two-week ordeal...), and unlike the 2004 lahman you WILL be able to start your MLB season in 2004 when its complete!

I started on my 2004 Roster set from this post-
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ghlight=LAHMAN And explained the only possible "work-around" to create a updated roster set with 2003 stats, starting in 2004: has anyone figured out yet a "work-around" to get the stats to work starting a 2004 season? The ONLY way I can figure out to do it, is to: #1 copy this file over current lahman #2 import a historic league #3 Take your first imported season (players with 2004 stats) and overwrite your players.dat file in the /create folder #4 start another new league (custom league, starting in 2004, use "default" players...this will throw all of the players from '04 into a draft pool) #5 use pierre's career stat editor to update EVERY players stats from 2004. #6 draft players on their current team #7 update ratings, contracts, etc to reflect reality. BINGO! This whole process may take someone several weeks to do. What I DONT understand is players HAVE 2003 stats in the draft pool, but when you look at thier "player card" view, the 2003 line on career stats is completely skipped. Anyone have ANYTHING that will work? Start a 2004 season with mlb 2003 stats????? (* besides the method I posted!!!!! *) |
