Fake Baseball needs five...

Fake Baseball is looking for a handful of owners...

We're just past the All-Star Break in our inaugural season. We had a dispersal draft to start the league, and have a great amount of parity throughout the league's divisions. We sim one game day per real day, and as Commish I _never_ miss a sim.

Teams available are:

Anaheim
Atlanta
Milwaukee
San Francisco
Seattle

If you are interested, please check out our website at http://www.fakebaseball.net and click on the link in the right-hand column to "Apply". Hope to hear from you!

i think the problem you are having with ur league is that it takes too long to finish a season doin one game per day. i do like the fact u sim so often..... but i like to see my prospects progress and things move a bit faster... there are not many moves that i can see that would make that much difference on a day to day basis

That's your prerogative, and that's fine...but we're a "niche" type of specialty league that SOME people may actually find right up their alley. Of our 27 owners, I'm sure at least a handful of them agree with me that the slower pace of our league is preferable to a league that ratchets through a season every two months. It allows you to micromanage your team, and is "realistic" in the sense that every morning you have a boxscore to look at for your team.

I'm sure that handful would contend that our league doesnt have any "problems" at all...and we're just out here looking for more people of that personal leaning.

Of course, given the gratuitous usage of "ur" and "u", I'm going to assume you're a younger guy...so it doesnt surprise me that you would consider the slower pace of our league undesireable.

And that's fine...you say tomato, I say

One shouldn't assume If I were to make one, I'd assume the league isn't very good since it needs new owners so often

Then it appears we have a quite a few leagues that arent very good, since this forum seems to be loaded with Commissioners stumping for new owners...

This community has room for all kinds of leagues. This one sims differently then most. So? I don't like fictional leagues, but I don't say they are bad leagues because they don't start with real rosters. This league caters to those who would rather micromanage their team then see the league progress through time. No right or wrong about it .. just different tastes.

Best of luck with your league.

Werent the leagues you are in needing owners when you got your team? If so, then under your assumption, they arent very good leagues, which, is not correct when one looks at some of the leagues you're in.

You know what they say about when you 'assume' things.................

I agree wholeheartedly...I was merely responding a bit sarcastically (and somewhat immaturely) to Bacon's (unnecessary) response to my making assumptions about "Buckeyes".

Sorry...I'll try not to lower the "class" factor from here on out, I promise. In my own thread, no less...

I see openings in his league more often than most leagues. He made a rude comment, so I just figured since I was in the area I'd make one. I also don't join leagues on the boards anyways, I am invited.

So why do you post so much in threads in which leagues are looking for owners? Why comment on just about all of them? Do you think your comments will help others take positions or not take them? If you answer is yes to the last one, please stop.

Sorry to Geoff, I understand you are just posting for openings but neither Buckeyes or bacon21's comments really belong here. If you don't like the league, move on.

I recently joined UBL and NAHHBL because the last 2 leagues I joined off the forum folded, so at one time I was looking for leagues. Just like you say my posts don't belong here, neither do yours. Plus I never once discouraged anyone from joining. If you're just chiming in to get your post count up, please stop.

While I did stoop to a bit of immaturity in my post, I hardly think my response was THAT out of line. The guy (BUCKEYES) said something like "The problem with your league is..."

Well, personally...I spend a hell of a lot of time and energy (and $ on the webhost, to boot) on my league. I dont think it has ANY problems...and I'd rather some casual observer didnt put on his Dr. Phil hat and break out an analysis for me. Like I said, I may have responded immaturely, in that I would probably have been better served to ignore BUCKEYES altogether...but I didnt.

Irregardless, I didnt realize you were the forum's enforcer for politeness and etiquette, Bacon...next time I need one, I'll know who to look for.
