i'm just glad that post was removed/warned. really a horrible thing to say.

anyways, let's try to actually say things that are facts, not lie to make a point.

Civility and kindness as well. In general, I find this forum to be very helpful and (mostly) congenial and supportive.

I'm not happy with the mission program this year either, but I appreciate that it has not declined significantly, if at all, from last year. I don't have the data from v.25 and prior - just the recollection that I enjoyed attacking the missions more back then, than now. Maybe it is me that has changed. Still, it's just a game and everyone is dealing with the same constraints. Having those change a bit every year is part of the challenge, if not the fun.

Thanks, cwhitman, for your diligence in setting the record straight. Thanks, Paul Sporer, for keeping the missions fresh and engaging.

Onward!

the biggest difference between 25 and before was that 25 had more larger scale card mission sets: where there were like, a dozen cards or so. i think it's a good thing those have been pared down because all that did was lead to people being like "why does everyone have the same mission card team". i do think that OOTP needs to be a little better with sprinkling pack missions in more often so that launch cards and other stuff get more value and encourage ripping more.

Agreed! I'm not happy with the missions either. I don't feel they are engaging or rewarding enough. The ROI on many of them doesn't justify the cost, especially for a FTP player. Stashing away my PP right now so I can save up and use it later if/when the missions get better.

I also want to apologize to cwit and to everyone. I, myself, am on the spectrum even if high functioning (I'm an engineer). Coincidentally, I'm also raising a child on the spectrum. I actually like others to know that about me especially because I want my son to be proud of who is is, but I realize how what I said can be misconstrued and make someone feel terrible. And I know sometimes I don't say the right things, and I do apologize for that. You'll see me edit my posts often right after posting (like this one, where I feel I need to apologize because I love this game so much and hate myself because my post may have made someone feel badly).

I love stats and simulations, and I love collectible games, and OOTP + PT marries the two. Even if I have my criticisms, I love it. And I feel awful that I made anyone else feel terrible. I apologize immensely. It looks like a lot of people chimed in and were super offended, and that was never my intent. Thank you for making me aware. I feel even more terrible because my post affected so many. So sorry to all. I'll take a break for a while. Sorry for the side-post, but I felt I needed to apologize.

This is literally the best response that I have seen to a warning in two decades here. Thank you, and take note folks.

I have a son on the spectrum as well.

Just want to say ... I like being on the civility side. Agree to follow the rules. Please accept my apologies.

But that doesn't mean I need to agree with Min-Maxers. There are so many ways to play this game.
