Crazy and confusing AI roster

So I'm in the middle of 2027, playing what started as a 2025 season, Drive to the Pennant and I'm getting some very wacky stuff happening.

In my first year I neglected to click the box that has only me adjusting rosters so my entire roster got dumped in the AFL league to never return, so I had to manipulate the system to just get started back up. I played 2026 without any craziness, now I go into 2027, and in May out of nowhere the AI dumps just about every roster into the DFA area and lets them go into FA? Now they are all just sitting out there in FA for anyone to sign, but there isn't an option to sign them. This is kind of crazy behavior. Please understand I'm a NOOB, so I'm sure I have just done something wrong in the settings or it's a bug I haven't read about yet. Does anybody know whats happening? I want to make sure I don't repeat the same problem going forward. Thanks

I have never used the drive to the pennant mode. Is it even intended to be used for multiple season play?

That is a very good question, that I didn't even think to ask

Only issue would be It originallys happened in the 2025 season where all my regulars wound up getting dumped into the AFL, then I played the 2026 season without any kind of issue, now I'm into 2027 and it happened with every other team loosing their rosters to FA. So it kinda sounds like a bug maybe.

I did find a post from one of the dev team stating that the mode is supposed to work fine when continuing forward.

I have heard of the thing with players getting dumped in the AFL, but not familiar with why it happens or how to avoid/fix it.

The mass dumping into free agency is a new one, at a complete loss there.
