What did you set the financials to be to make everything work since you chose an independent league? How do the contracts work in your settings?

TBH, I don't remember and didn't really track it in the early days. I just let it roll. Looking at it now, the USBL teams all have plenty of room with the current economics in the screenshot below.

This section in the FINANCIALS tab is key. Play around with the various components - salaries, ticket prices, attendance baselines, revenue sharing etc - until you have it sitting where you want. Then just keep a close eye on it for the first few seasons.
