That could be a great side plot once I ever get back into side plots. I will note that he has an edgy, snaky demeanor in his notes just in case he ever comes up in an events or incidents role.

The breakdown of results are below with series records, not scores. Fort Hagen Regional #2 Oberland 3, #7 Lexington 0 #3 The Slog 3, #6 Spectacle Island 0 #5 Nahant 2, #4 Egret 1 Jamaica Plain Regional #2 County Crossing 2, #7 Glowing Sea 1 #3 University Point 2, #6 Cambridge 1 #4 Starlight 2, #5 Atom 1 Vault 81 Regional #2 Bunker Hill 2, #7 Quincy 1 #3 Goodneighbor 3, #6 Easy Town 0 #4 Concord 2, #5 Diamond City 1 Salem Regional #2 Roxbury 3, #7 Malden 0 #6 Southie 2, #3 Nordhagen Beach 1 #4 FHE 2, #5 Sunshine Tidings 1 Summary With the #1 seeds having a bye, here is the breakdown of seedings in the Sweet 16: #1: 4 #2: 4 #3: 3 #4: 3 #5: 1 #6: 1 #7: 0 Southie had the biggest upset of the Play-in Round, downing the powerhouse Nordhagen Beach, two games to one. The Party Boys won the first game, 5-1, with Beachboy Nut doing his thing. Nut allowed no runs on three hits with four strikeouts in 7.0 innings. The Brews had game, though, the next two, beginning their run to the tournament. In Game 2, Southie needed 13 innings, but came away with a 15-10 victory after a five-run inning in the 13th. Grill Atomson doubled twice.

March 2313
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 11 March 2313 Nuka Cup Tournament We have now played through the first two rounds of the Nuka Cup Tournament, with the first eliminations happening officially as of yesterday. Results and a summary are below. Fort Hagen Regional #1 Fort Hagen 3, #5 Nahant 0 #2 Oberland 2, #3 The Slog 1 Fort Hagen 2, Oberland 1 The Slog 2, Nahant 1 - Nahant eliminated Jamaica Plain Regional #1 Jamaica Plain 2, #4 Starlight 1 #3 University Point 2, #2 County Crossing 1 University Point 3, Jamaica Plain 0 County Crossing 2, Starlight 1 - Starlight eliminated Vault 81 Regional #1 Vault 81 2, #4 Concord 1 #3 Goodneighbor 2, #2 Bunker Hill 1 Vault 81 3, Goodneighbor 0 Bunker Hill 2, Concord 1 - Concord eliminated Salem Regional #6 Southie 2, #1 Salem 1 #2 Roxbury 2, #4 FHE 1 Southie 2, Roxbury 1 FHE 2, Salem 1 - Salem eliminated Summary Southie is the big story as they are one of the four teams, along with Fort Hagen, Vault 81, and University Point. The Brews not only got the Party Boys in the Play-in Round, but they have now beaten all three top seeds in the Salem Regional, including the host Witch Hats who are surprisingly the first team out in their regional. We are not expecting the Brews to do anything in the regular season that would indicate they have advanced to contender territory, but they have to love the 6-3 start and getting to rest before facing either the Rad Sox or Yao Guai in the Regional Final, in which the Brews will be granted a 1-0 series advantage in the "first to three wins" Regional Final. We will most certainly keep our eye on Southie's progress. For now, some legit CBO threats are 1B Fairlane Ford, 2B Grill Atomson, and CL Matthew Hughes. We will also peek in on how SP Buzzcut McDonald does after his 3-4, 3.54 rookie debut as a reliever in 2312. CCBL Preview The 2313 CCBL season begins today with part of the Southern Commonwealth (SoComm) Conference joining the league in 2313, while the other four teams will join in 2314. Looking at the predictions for 2313, PAM has the Holy Cross Crusaders matching up with the Mass Bay Beacons in the College Series. The Winthrop College Guardians, winners of the last two championships, are picked to finish 35-25 and barely in the playoffs. Here is the predictions for the tournament, with the top three seeds automatically determined by being conference champions. We have ordered the teams based on PAM's predictions of record and run differential. #1 Holy Cross (42-18, MassCon Champs) vs #16 Plymouth (34-26, +43) #8 Assumption (39-21, +83) vs #9 Western New England (37-23, +104) #4 Northeastern (40-20, +165) vs #13 Winthrop (35-25, +67) #5 Revere (40-20, +137) vs #12 Greenfield (37-23, +73) #2 Mass Bay (41-19, BCAC Champs) vs #15 Commonwealth (34-26, +62) #7 Mass Atlantic (39-21, +103) vs #10 Nuka U (37-23, +97) #3 ECSU (28-32, SoComm Champs) vs #14 U Mass-Lowell (35-25, +42) #6 Tufts (40-20, +120) vs #11 Boston College (37-23, +79) The Crusaders as the #1 overall seed and early favorites to win the championship would be making their first appearance in the playoffs in the CCBL. In 2311, Holy Cross finished 43-37, missing the playoffs by just a game. This season, Holy Cross has an outstanding outfield that should lead the way, including LF Wonny Johnson, CF Brandon Brown, and RF Lance Tinter. They also have two potential CBO draft pick starting pitchers in Dylan Newhat and Dropper Millieu. CL Sappy Castro could also find himself in the CBO one day. As the #2 seed, the Mass Bay University Beacons at University Point is trying to make a name for themselves in 2313. While the MassCon was still split into division, the Beacons won three divisional championships from 2309-2311. Mass Bay finished in 5th place in the MassCon last season. The two stars for the Beacons are 1B Kane Jarvis and 3B Barbarus Bailey. Other CBO prospects with Mass Bay include 2B Buns Palmer, SS Big Dipper Grzenkowicz, and RF Zoo Coomz. The top five picks as college's top hitter are 3B Donovan Mackey (Northeastern), LF Jets Freud (Tufts), 2B Buns Palmer (Mass Bay), 1B Haystack Black (Revere), and RF Exorcist Colwell (Fairfield). The top five picks for the top pitcher award are SP Bullets Barnes (Northeastern), SP Jean Dubost (Revere), SP Irvin Ray (Boston Coll), SP Gomer Brown (WNEU), and SP Dylan Newhart (Holy Cross).

March 2313
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 20 March 2313 Nuka Cup Tournament The regional tournaments are now complete with just four teams remaining in the 2313 Nuka Cup Tournament. Let's see the results below from the last week of action: Fort Hagen Regional Oberland 2, The Slog 1 - The Slog eliminated Oberland 3, Fort Hagen 2 - Oberland advances Jamaica Plain Regional Jamaica Plain 2, County Crossing 1 - County Crossing eliminated University Point 4, Jamaica Plain 1 - University Point advances Vault 81 Regional Goodneighbor 2, Bunker Hill 1 - Bunker Hill eliminated Vault 81 3, Goodneighbor 2 - Vault 81 advances Salem Regional Roxbury 2, FHE 1 - FHE eliminated Southie 4, Roxbury 1 - Southie advances Summary Southie continues to surprise as the Brews won three of the four-game series against Roxbury, taking the Salem Regional title, four games to one. The fourth "victory" is automatically awarded to the Winner's Bracket team in each regional. In the other regionals, the seeding did not seem to matter much, as the #1 Vaut 81 Dwellers, #2 Oberland T-51s, and #3 University Point Deathclaws all won their regionals to join #6 Southie. That also means we will have an all South Charles Association semifinals. Just one year ago, it was an all North Charles Association semifinals with Starlight coming out on top ahead of Fort Hagen, Nordhagen Beach, and Nahant. In the semifinals in the Great Green Jewel, Oberland will be considered the home team in Games 1 and 3 against University Point, which will be the home team in Game 2. The same goes for the Vault 81-Southie matchup with the Dwellers the home team in Games 1 and 3 and the Brews the home team in Game 2. Winners of those two series play for the right to be the 2313 Nuka Cup champions. Oberland and University Point have won three of the past five seasons, so they should be the favorite coming out of their Semifinals Round series. CYL Preview The 2313 Commonwealth Youth League has already begun, but we have yet to run the season preview. Let's take a look at what PAM thinks is going to happen this season after an exciting 2312 where the Marblehead Mess topped the Woodlawn Gnomes for the title. This season, 32 teams will reach the postseason tournament for the right to be the CYL champions. In the North Region, division winners are expected to be as follows: Franklin - Sturbridge Rangers 33-17 Emerson - Marblehead Mess 32-18 Fuller - Covenant Dandy Boys 33-17 Revere - (three-way tie) Boston Harbor Harborfellows 32-18 DuBois - Reading Rhinos 28-22 Those five division winners would be joined by 11 wildcard spots to make up the 16 teams competing in the North Region. Expected wildcard teams in order of seeding are: Boston Common Baby Bellies, Diamond City Newsboys, Lowell Frags, Beantown Sprouts, Circle Jerks, CIT Academy Yahoos, Lynn Pier Gamers, Worcester Crows, Hester Mechanists, Castle Freedom, and Beerthirty Sippers. Top competitors to win the batting title are 1B Bow Wow Vargas (Boston Common), LF Crunchy Sloganman (Boston Harbor), LF Varlam Sayadian (Reading), RF Ty Johnson (Concord), and 1B Fuzz Copman (Castle). The predicted top pitchers in the NR are SP Hub Purdue (Hester), SP Licky Lichenstein (Beantown), SP Mike Searocker (Lowell), SP Dream O'Sullivan (Boston Harbor), and SP Strongback Grazer (Hester). In the South Region, the divisions are expected to finish with these winners and top seeds: Adams - North Providence Phantoms 35-15 Alcott - Swansea Nuka Sox 32-18 Morse - (tie) Plymouth Hunters 30-20 Attucks - Truro Hatchings 34-16 Hancock - Old Lyme Lake Monsters 20-30 In the race for the 11 wildcard spots, this is the predicted order of playoff wildcards: Nauset Beach Lurk Hunters, West Quincy Atomatoys, Eastham Rads, Wellfleet Tarberries, Attleboro Deejays, Braintree Schoolboys, Jamaica Plain Treasures, Provincetown Land Pirates, East Providence Skulls, Taunton Giants, and Andrew Station Southies. Top competitors to win the batting title in the SR are RF Darby O'Doherty (Nuka Academy), LF Obee Jay (Nauset Beach), LF Jailhouse Shillitto (Holyoke), RF Alastair Being (West Quincy), and RF Fenwick Eagle (Coventry). The predicted top pitchers are SP Nutball Solc (Attleboro), SP Calvagh Lewis (North Providence), SP Chad OJ (Brown), SP Beefcake McStevens (Brown), and SP Big Dog Monaghan (Jamaica Plain).

CCBL Analysis The first month of the college season is done, and at the top of the heap right now is a traditionally good team in the Northeastern University Huskies. The Huskies lead the CCBL with a 17-3 record, putting them one game up on the Harvard Crimson in the BCAC after 20 games. Other conference leaders are the WNEU Statesmen (16-4, MassCon) and U Conn Yankees (9-11, SoComm). The top three wildcard teams at this point are the Crimson, Nuka University, and Mass Bay University. CCBL Players of the Month Hitter - At only 18 years of age, Haystack Black could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Revere College Riders, as March was one to remember for the first baseman and he has captured the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .468 with 11 home runs, 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored. Pitcher - March was a magical month for Bullets Barnes of Northeastern. He held the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League hitters spellbound, conjuring up a 5-0 mark and a 2.43 ERA. Barnes also chalked up 5 starts, 37 innings and 34 strikeouts. For this outstanding performance he was rewarded with the Pitcher of the Month trophy. CYL Analysis In the NR, division leaders in order of record are the Lynn Pier Gamers, Newburyport Cubs, Covenant Dandy Boys, Needham Radstorm, and Boston Common Baby Bellies. Top wildcards are Reading, Danvers, Woburn, Hester, Malden, and Rockport. In the SR, division leaders are the West Quincy Atomatoys, Harwich Fishheads, Andrew Station Southies, North Providence Phantoms, and Nuka Academy Colamakers. Top wildcards are Dennis, Wareham, Hope, Taunton, Swansea, Pawtucket, and Spectacle Island. CYL Players of the Month The CYL did not select top players in March, so we looked at the top WAR leaders per region for the top players so far: NR Hitter - 1B Earl McGraw, Lowell - .464/12 HR/31 RBI/1.6 WAR SR Hitter - RF Eric Creed, Swansea - .500/5/19/1.6 WAR NR Pitcher - SP Dream O'Sullivan, Boston Harbor - 2-0, 0.52 ERA, 34.1 IP, 2.4 WAR SR Pitcher - SP John Wonderwall, West Quincy - 3-0, 2.51 ERA, 32.1 IP, 1.9 WAR

April 2313
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 7 April 2313 CBO Season Preview It's a new season, and there is a lot of excitement in the air of change and progress among teams without winning traditions. PAM has made a series of interesting picks, and we are curious to see how right the trusty assaultron is entering 2313. Let's break down the picks and what they mean. North Charles Association PAM has predicted the The Slog Ghouls and Fort Hagen Silver Shroud to win their respective leagues with the Ghouls as PAM's pick to win the NCA. In order of the playoffs should PAM's predictions hold up: 1. The Slog 2. Fort Hagen 3. Concord 4. Salem 5. Nahant 6. County Crossing Both the Bloodbugs and Starlight are predicted to finish 70-60, but the Bugs would hold the tiebreaker based on these predictions with a higher run differential. The most interesting tidbit would be Nordhagen Beach finishing below .500 at 61-69. The Nuka Cup Tournament may have been the first hint that the Party Boys have not properly reloaded their talent to be competitive in the near future as they age out. The Boys will probably be early sellers to reload for 2314. Concord also offers an interesting pick as the #3 seed after missing the playoffs the last seven seasons. The Radstags came close last season, finishing at 67-63 and just out. It was their last winning season since 2305. The Stags have built a strong base over the years, and may have one of the most dangerous lineups in the CBO. Productivity of rookie 3B Mike Fountaineau, 1B Hax Kim, RF Gargoyle Falcone, and CF Duff Fee could frustrate opposing pitchers all season. Concord also has good depth, which could turn into trade fodder to improve the pitching staff. Still, the Radstags will have three really good pitchers in SP Leyden Aigg, SP Mel Gorgeous, and CL Penn Teller. In all, 70 appears to be the magic number to get into the playoffs. Speaking of the opposite of the playoffs, both the Easy Town Assaultrons and Sunshine Tidings Chemists are expected to battle for the CBO's #1 overall pick in the Rookie Draft. Both Malden and Cambridge are expected to just avoid the basement yet again. PAM is not predicting County Crossing's Babs Rooth to win the Nuka Hitter Award in 2313 as he did in 2312. Instead, PAM is picking 2B Diamond Ball of Nahant as the most likely to win the award, followed by Gavin Deux-Gas (The Slog), Brian DeLong (Salem), and Bulleye Shooterson (Nahant). In the pitchers' race, the Bloodbugs' College Luckyman is PAM's pick to win the Vim! Pitcher Award. Other contenders include The Slog's Make Money, and the Silver Shroud's La'Ray Kalel, Elastic Man Haley, and Sarthis Idren. South Charles Association In the SCA, PAM has the University Point Deathclaws and FHE Yao Guai as picks to win their leagues. The Yao Guai are an interesting pick to be the SCA representative in the Sole Survivor Series after losing out on the play-in game in 2312 to miss the playoffs. Here is the predicted playoff order: 1. FHE 2. University Point 3. Oberland 4. Diamond City 5. Vault 81 6. Jamaica Plain PAM has both Quincy and Roxbury at 67-63 and the first teams out. The Rad Sox were the CBO champions just two seasons ago, yet they still are in it and very well could find their way in yet again. In addition to Roxbury being out, a couple of interesting teams in Goodneighbor (2312 ML champion) and Egret to finish with losing records. We are trying to figure out what makes PAM doubt the Hancocks' chance for success since they are a young team that seems to be getting better and better. Looking at their lineup, they have filled in some of their holes, with some definitive stars in the outfield: CF Missile Crews, LF Ziggy Stardust, and RF Jay Gabby (injured in the offseason in a raider attack-will be back in late-April). For the Ninjas, they just missed out on the playoffs in 2312 by a game, but they are on a five-season streak of finishing above .500. They had made the playoffs the four seasons prior to 2312. Egret is an aging team, but it's core is still quite good. As it stands, Diamond City as the 4th seed is the biggest surprise. The Swatters last made the playoffs eight seasons ago when they used to be a force. Since then, they have turned over their roster and now have some new guys looking to make a name in the most important franchise in the CBO. People already know about RF Magnum Peaeye in the middle of the lineup and SP Paul Stains dominating on the mound when he gets run support. There will also be eyes on rookie SS Alex Bragman who arrived in a trade with Starlight that sent SP Phil Pearlman to the Killers among an array of prospects. In the least surprising prediction ever, PAM has picked 34-year-old 1B Barker Cocoa of University Point to win the Nuka Hitter Award. Players competing for 2nd place in the hitting race are LF Ken Debate (Jamaica Plain), LF Makin Jobear (FHE), CF Missile Crews (Goodneighbor), and 2B Slip Knotty (FHE). In the race for the Vim! Pitcher Award, the Swatters' Stains is expected to take the title. Other top contenders are SP Heaven Fontenot (Goodneighbor), SP Nuka Laloosh (Roxbury), SP Baker Dozen (FHE), and SP Ahsoka Tano (Oberland). CBO Top Players CBO Top Prospects CBO Top Systems

April 2313
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 21 April 2313 CBO Analysis The 2313 season has now completed its first two weeks of the regular season, and we are interested in what the full season will hold. Not only did PAM make some interesting predictions, but the start has shown us that this season may end up being completely unpredictable. We are going to approach the breakdown of the leagues with a full breakdown, including a team page look to put the full pulse on each team. We are going to try to mix up the featured teams with their place in the standings, but we also want to feature all 28 teams in the first seven updates. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) FHE Yao Guai (179.1, o) 2) Bunker Hill 75ers (143.4, o) 3) County Crossing Bloodbugs (129.6, o) 4) University Point Deathclaws (129.6, ++) 5) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (127.6, +) 6) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (125.6, -) 7) Salem Witch Hats (125.1, ++) 8) Starlight Killers (116.7, ++) 9) Spectacle Island Reapers (114.7, --) 10) Atom Cats (110.7, o) 11) Goodneighbor Hancocks (105.9, +) 12) Quincy Gunners (99.8, --) 13) Vault 81 Dwellers (98.8, +) 14) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (92.8, --) 15) Lexington Synths (86.2, ++) 16) The Slog Ghouls (83.2, -) 17) Diamond City Swatters (71.3, ++) 18) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (71.3, ++) 19) Southie Brews (66.3, -) 20) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (66.3, -) 21) Cambridge Coursers (65.3, --) 22) Concord Radstags (64.3, --) 23) Oberland T-51s (63.3, --) 24) Roxbury Rad Sox (50.4, -) 25) Egret Ninjas (49.4, --) 26) Nahant Celtics (35.6, --) 27) Easy Town Assaultrons (31.6, -) 28) Malden Grognaks (18.7, o) Brotherhood League There is a two-way tie between the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and County Crossing Bloodbugs. The Slog, Salem, and Nahant, predicted to be the top three teams in the standings, are currently 4th, 3rd, and tied for 5th, in that order. The Celtics are tied with Easy Town, while Malden has sole possession of 7th place. The Assaultrons, Celtics, and Grognaks are also all at the bottom of the CBO standings. The Boys are atop the Brotherhood League yet again. Yes, we know the season is young, but Nordhagen Beach is already doing great statistically, currently 4th in runs scored (82) and 6th in runs against (65). Rookie LF Slammin' Sammy Holloway (.340/6/15) has been the early team leader. Three other players hitting over .300 are CF Sting McGee (.327/0/6), LF Gorgeous DiGiacomo (.381/7), and 2B Pointie Shroud (.350/0/3). On the mound, the top three starters have all begun the season doing well: Beachboy Nut (2-1, 3.00), Deedee Martinson (1-0, 3.32), and Ugio Church (2-1, 4.72). CL Yank Daley (4 SV, 7.71) has struggled to get outs. Institute League It's not the defending champions holding the NCA's top record, but Bunker Hill at 10-3. After getting upset in the Wildcard Round last season, the 75ers are coming out hoping to create their own success. Starlight and Fort Hagen are the other two teams above .500 with Lexington alone in 4th and the three-way tie for 5th among Cambridge, Concord, and Sunshine Tidings. The 75ers are the premier offense to start the season, leading in runs scored (101) while allowing a lot of runs (71, 8th) in high-scoring affairs. The early star for Bunker Hill has been LF Kasumi Goto (.429/6/21) with additional power help from 1B Zod Gaycey (.282/5/15), SS Aaron Squire (.273/5/11), and 3B Cave Dweller Bourgeois (.304/4/20). Ace SP Jason Tonelli (1-0, 8.00) has struggled early on, though he has benefited from the high run support. SP Max Thunderdome (1-0, 2.95) and SP Hangman Alley (2-0, 3.78) have done quite a bit better. Minutemen League University Point has sprinted out to an early one-game lead over both Atom and Spectacle Island. Goodneighbor and Quincy are also above .500. Jamaica Plain and Southie are tied for last place. Both looked to be promising teams in the preseason, but have struggled to get wins to start 2313. The Reapers are a team still looking to find their true success on the island since moving from Warwick. If they are going to maintain success, they will need to build their statistical consistency better. Spectacle Island is 13th in runs scored (56) and tied for 6th in runs allowed (58), showing they are being outscored despite the winning record. The standout so far has been SS Nippy Ben Nippolt (.415/2/10), who, as a second-year player has outshined so far last year's top rookie, RF Esau Babz (.327/3/7). LF Hondo Ohnaka (.391/4/9) has also started out well. On the mound, ace SP Jalep Temper (2-0, 0.53) looks as though he wants a Vim! Pitcher Award. SP Brent Hooker (1-1, 3.86) and SP Josh Calvit (2-1, 3.31) have started well. CL Kelvin Brown (6 SV, 0.00) has been perfect thus far. Railroad League FHE has been nearly perfect, starting 12-1 with its sole loss coming last week at Roxbury. Glowing Sea and Vault 81 are the only two other teams above .500. Oberland, Diamond City, Egret, and Roxbury have all struggled early in the season. The Ninjas and Sox are tied for the SCA's worst record at 4-9. The Radscorpions are excited about their early start to the 2313 season at 9-4, tied for the 2nd-best record in the SCA. Currently, the Scorpions are 3rd in runs scored (84) and tied for 2nd in runs allowed (46). Two players are hitting above .400: RF Naga Arakaki (.431/7/23) and 3B Quay Swimmer (.429/4/12). Swimemr and Arakaki have now each won the SCA Player of the Week in the first two weeks, as we will feature below. At an average of 1.77 RBI per game, Arakaki is on pace for 230 RBI, which would shatter Barker Cocoa's record of 155. On the mound, all four starters have ERAs below 4.00: Tony Vampire Frazier (1-0, 2.04), Ryan Dennislynch (3-0, 2.25), Oliver Oil (1-0, 3.14), and Swimmer (0-1, 3.26). In the bullpen, both RP Thrifty Tony Malacara (1-0, 0.00) and Mar Gotfenning (0-0, 0.00) have been efficient in over 10.0 combined innings. CBO Standings CBO Players of the Week April 14 - Family Sam Partridge has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 24-year-old left fielder of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists had a hot bat in the North Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Partridge batted .448 with 13 hits in 29 at-bats, 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. All week long Quay Swimmer was the talk of the South Charles Association... his name and face were everywhere. So it was no surprise to anyone when he was chosen the South Charles Association's Player of the Week for his exceptional performance. Swimmer put up a solid set of stats, compiling a .600 average (12-for-20) and contributing 4 home runs and 11 RBIs to claim the honor. April 21 - Clean Jack Spratt has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 23-year-old left fielder of the Cambridge Coursers had a hot bat in the North Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Spratt batted .524 with 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 6 home runs and 8 RBIs. One of the league's most exciting young players, Naga Arakaki of the Glowing Sea Radscorpions earned himself South Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 20-year-old right fielder had a lofty .545 average (12-for-22), collecting 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 9 runs scored. CBO Noteworthy News April 7 - The County Crossing franchise has begun a marketing study to determine if their brand, team name, and colors are effective. Team officials have stated that the team is exploring possibilities in changing the team name in some way though there is no expectation of a decision before 2314 if there are changes. April 10 - Glenn Higinbotham reached the 2000-hit mark today. Starlight's 35-year-old left fielder received a standing ovation from Starlight Killers and Lexington Synths fans alike. On the day, Higinbotham went 4-for-5 in the Killers 13-2 victory. In his career, Higinbotham is batting .283 with 2002 hits, 324 home runs, 1280 runs scored and 1004 RBIs. April 16 - After the game the Starlight Killers outstanding reliever Justin Wilkerson celebrated his 300th-career save by reminiscing about his first save. "I remember it clearly. I was a rookie and the last one standing in the bullpen in an extra-inning game. Our staff was worn to a frazzle and was desperate for a pitcher. So they put me in. I faced four batters, rung up the victory and took the first step toward 300 saves." The 34-year-old Wilkerson got number 300 by preserving the Killers 5-4 win over the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud. Wilkerson has 300 saves over his career with a 49-68 record and a 3.55 ERA. April 21 - Which pitchers are leading the Commonwealth Baseball Organization in career wins? May 2313
Shout out to SP Ryan Dennislynch of Glowing Sea. In 2311, he was featured for starting out his career something like 0-20!
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 May 2313 The May Super Post, Part 1 CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 20 Naga Arakaki has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Glowing Sea Radscorpions star can enjoy the numbers he put up in April, which have garnered him the nod as the South Charles Association Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .361 average with 11 home runs, 31 RBIs and 23 runs scored. SCA Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 20 Naga Arakaki has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Glowing Sea Radscorpions star can enjoy the numbers he put up in April, which have garnered him the nod as the South Charles Association Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .361 average with 11 home runs, 31 RBIs and 23 runs scored. NCA Pitcher - Last month's cream of the crop on the mound was Hangman Alley of the Bunker Hill 75ers. He captured the North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award for his outstanding performance in April. Alley started 6 games, threw 36 innings, yielded 37 hits and logged a 5-0 record. He put down 29 batters on strikes, walked 14 and compiled a 3.00 ERA. Opposing teams batted .268 against him. SCA Pitcher - When Ryan Dennislynch takes the mound, a Glowing Sea victory is usually the result. At least that's the way it was in April. He excelled with a 4-0 mark and a 2.63 ERA in 0 starts, tossed 37.2 innings, fanned 21 and held opposing batters to a .227 average. That's why the Radscorpions starter was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the South Charles Association. NCA Rookie - Jack of Diamonds Cordero earned April's Rookie of the Month honors in addition to his Batter of the Month honors in the North Charles Association for last month's performance. The boyish Malden second baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. The 2nd-overall pick in the 2312 Rookie Draft, Cordero hit .296 with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and 15 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. SCA Rookie - Alloy Jordan is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest South Charles Association Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In April the Glowing Sea hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .274 average with 23 hits, 3 home runs and 13 RBIs. CBO's Top Performances Hitter - Naga Arakaki, Glowing Sea, April 18 at Sunshine Tidings - 4/5, 3 HR, 4 R, 6 RBI - With a 113 score in the performances grades, Arakaki set the Radscorpions' single-game home runs record and tied the team record for runs scored in a game. Pitcher - D.P. Clark, Diamond City, April 13 at Glowing Sea - 9.0 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K - Clark dominated the Radscorpions in a 1-0 victory for the Swatters. With one of three complete-game shutouts in the CBO in April, Clark is the only of the three to hold the opponents to under four runs, thus giving him the top performance score of 86. CBO Statistical Standouts Average - .458 - 3B Shane Stabb, Atom - He may be 36 years old, but the Cats' Stabb continues to show how solid he is for the franchise, up .056 points on the CBO's next-best hitter in RF Wee Willy Warrington (.402) of University Point. RBI - 31 - RF Naga Arakaki, Glowing Sea - We focused on Arakaki's record RBI space in our bi-weekly update. With 31 RBI in 22 games, his 200+ pace has slowed, but he is still on pace to shatter the record of 155 with a current pace to 183. OBP - .535 - RF Baywatch Fischler, Quincy - Another 30-plusser, Fischler is getting it done in the batter's box to help his team as much as possible every time he gets up to bat. SLG - .896 - LF Clean Jack Spratt, Cambridge - Spratt has more than a .100 point advantage on the next best slugger, Arakaki (.795). ERA - 0.66 - SP Jalep Temper, Spectacle Island - He may not have won the Pitcher of the Month Award, but Temper (2-1, 0.66) has been dominant, losing his one game in a 1-0 pitcher's duel. There is bound to be a shellacking at some point that changes this ERA, but Temper has been dominant in the first month of the season. ERA+ - 715 - SP Jalep Temper, Spectacle Island - Not only is he dominating the ERA, but Temper has a 340-point advantage on the CBO's next best pitcher in this category, SP Baker Dozen of FHE (375). This shows that Temper's month was extra special and perhaps better than the pick of the 75ers' Alley. NEBL Analysis After the first month of the season and the history of the league, the competition at the highest minor league has been fierce with a lot of outstanding performances. At this point, division leaders are the Everett Mutant Hounds (Maine), Abernathy Adamantium (Vershire), Fall River Rippers (Mass), and Natick Big Leaguers (Connri). NEBL Players of the Month PL Hitter - Aaron Wright has a lot going for him. The Everett left fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the Patriot League has just picked him as its top hitter for April. In 21 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .375 with 8 home runs, 17 RBIs and 20 runs scored. YL Hitter - Weston DeGurlz may be much younger than other hitters in the Yankee League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in April to win the Batter of the Month award. The 23-year-old Fall River right fielder hit .423 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored. PL Pitcher - Corey Ware really tore up the Patriot League this past month. He went 5-0 in April and won the Pitcher of the Month award. In 5 starts he struck out 46 in 45 innings with a 1.00 ERA. PL Pitcher - Corey Ware really tore up the Patriot League this past month. He went 5-0 in April and won the Pitcher of the Month award. In 5 starts he struck out 46 in 45 innings with a 1.00 ERA. YL Pitcher - The Yankee League announced today that Zane Blaze has been chosen the league's Pitcher of the Month. The Fall River starter had everything working for him last month as he glided to a 6-0 record. In April Blaze chalked up a 1.74 ERA in 46.2 innings with 35 strikeouts and 11 walks. MML Analysis Now the CBO's AA affiliate league, young players are trying to battle their way up to the CBO this year or next. The current division leaders are the Covenant Refractors (Wade Boggs), Sanctuary Hills Zetans (Matt Murtagh), Hull Lead Bellies (Ted Williams), and Newton Behemoths (Carl Yastrzemski). MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - For a rookie just breaking in, Ramon Gill certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the LL Batter of the Month award for April. The 21-year-old left fielder for the Covenant Refractors hit .392 with 13 home runs, 29 RBIs and 17 runs scored. SL Hitter - Not known for his offensive prowess, Doorbell Arg set the league afire in April and took home the Stars League Batter of the Month award. The Hull center fielder posted a steady .370 batting average, 15 home runs, 30 RBIs and 26 runs. LL Pitcher - The Pitcher of the Month Award has been announced and the Legends League winner is Tenpines Bluff hurler, Seymour Kimahri. For his standout performances in April he has been named the league's best pitcher. During the month, Kimahri excelled with a 2.68 ERA and 4 wins and 1 loss. In 40.1 innings he struck out 44 and gave up 29 hits and 4 walks. SL Pitcher - Nash Vil of Newton had an award-winning April as he took home the Stars League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Vil's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in April except for Nash." Vil was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 5-0 record in 6 starts. He struck out 40 batters in 44.2 innings and kept opponents to a .208 batting average. BMU Analysis Now the Single-A affiliate of the CBO, the BMU is now the league where the better young players try to refine their skills and learn new positions, skills, and pitches. Current league leaders are the Lynn Woods Bloatflies (Dark Hollow Pond), Outpost Zimonja Strongbacks (Cambridge), DB Tech Nuclear Physicists (Downtown Boston), and Eastlake Aquaboys and Westing Estate Alphas (Glowing Sea). BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - Johan Honus made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Commonwealth Association this past month. The Sandy Coves Freaks first baseman shined through the month of April and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 19-year-old hit .355 with 14 home runs, 28 RBIs and 18 runs scored. MA Hitter - When Matt Paydirt stepped up to the plate in April he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Massachusetts Association Batter of the Month award. The young Somerville Place left fielder posted a .406 batting average with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 24 runs. Paydirt also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .494 on-base percentage. CA Pitcher - The top pitcher this past month in the Commonwealth Association was Meribrand Docybuck of the Union Hope Lifegivers. He really bewildered league hitters, finishing April with an excellent 3-0 record and 3.21 ERA. The Lifegivers hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 24 hits in 28 innings. He struck out 22 and walked 8. MA Pitcher - Dobby Wainwright was on cloud nine the entire month of April, capping it off with the Massachusetts Association Pitcher of the Month honors. The Scrap Palace starter was spectacular in 5 starting assignments with 3 wins and 1 loss, 30.1 innings pitched, 24 strikeouts and a fine 1.19 ERA. GBRL Analysis Still the CBO's lowest minor league, the GBRL is meant to figure out which of the youngest players can build themselves up from draftee or free agent signing to a player one day ready for the CBO. The competition here is the fiercest as players are fighting for their baseball future. Current division leaders are the Augusta Harpooners (Northeast), Brattleboro Collectors (Northwest), Woonsocket Orphans (Southeast), and New Britain Oceanics (Southwest). GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - Oslaf Skaal is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Beantown left fielder joined that select company when the North League announced the results of April's voting. Skaal totaled 20 hits, 30 walks, 11 home runs, 18 RBIs and 30 runs scored last month to put together a .345 batting average and .576 on-base percentage. SL Hitter - At only 19 years of age, Raul Strikes could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the New Britain Oceanics, as April was one to remember for the first baseman and he has captured the South League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .500 with 6 home runs, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored. NL Pitcher - The Augusta Harpooners celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Ag Jurati had been selected as April's North League Pitcher of the Month. Jurati's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," Jurati said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs." Jurati tossed 27.2 innings last month, holding opponents to a .175 average while striking out 30 batters. In 1 starting assignments he came away with a 4-0 record, putting together an ERA of 1.95. SL Pitcher - No doubt about it! New Britain starter Black Red earned his South League Pitcher of the Month award. He made that very clear as he mowed his way through league hitters in April. During the month Red chalked up a 3-0 record with a 1.96 ERA. The Oceanics star made 5 starts and surrendered 26 hits in 36.2 innings. He struck out 40 and walked 10.
